Question S256et vs EFR 6758

Well to be honest i tried to search to determine where, how much and drive-ability of these two turbos and there really isnt much real world information on them in these cars.

The house will be completed in the next 2 months and after that is game on for the cobalt (been killing me not to mod something to extremes). I definitely want a bigger turbo and would like to hit 500whp. I do have access to E85 as well

So while both Turbos will probably net me the numbers i want to know which one will be more efficient at it and spool better? Prices seem like they will be similiar, although i dont need all of the parts in the s256et kit so i could potentially sell some of them off.

After that i just need cams and a new tranny which shouldnt be a problem.

I had a S256et on my dsm and loved it. Spooled pretty fast for it's size and had great top end. If it wasn't Dsm flanged I would have put it on the Balt.

Cause i already have some of them. I have plenty of left over turbo parts from past builds, charge pipes, intercooler, wastegates etc.

I did double check and notice that the charge pipes are in the stage 2 part of the kit though. Thanks!

Yea, what do you mean by you don't need all the parts? Are you going to fabricate them yourself?

efr turbos are the BEST out right now.... nothing compares to me in terms of what you get for your dollar, spool, performance and so forth. good luck finding them though. the larger scale ones are easier to come by the 6258s and 6758s on the other hand are on crazy back order.

Say what different car? Because its a waste of power on the street and i already roached 6 tires in under 3000 miles lol. I don't beat my car either.. I'm gonna try a new tire setup in the spring before i get rid of it.

Run two tunes. Something low for DD use and a kill mode with a different set of wheels/tires for fun.

If i can obtain my goals i would run around at like 380-410whp and then turn the wick up and E85 for Saturday nights. Ive got plenty of other fast toys to use for traction and will be adding another Yamaha R1 to the stables this spring as well. Hopefully this one wont get stolen.

That's kinda funny because we received 3 6758's while waiting 3 months before finally cancelling a 7064 order and going to a Precision Turbo instead.

EFR turbo is the best.

it will spool faster compared to a same sized turbo due to the almost 1:1 weight difference between the turbine and compressor wheel.

I also like the new garrett gtx turbo lines.

But again, the EFR is the way to go.....

I have plenty of tunes but that doesn't help with traction.. Why have a car that is capable of 500hp when it doesn't have traction at 380. Don't get me wrong its fun to drive but it gets old just spinning all the time.

Here is a vid i took over the summer on 93 oct of normal driving and i never used more than 1/4 to 1/2throttle. Its a long vid of just driving around so don't watch it if your gonna bitch you can skip the first few min of warm up..

Like i said, you are gonna need some tire. If you think i get traction on the Z28 with 305s in the rear driving around on street tires you are sorely mistaken as well. By the same logic the cobalt would get walked from a 0-30 by a milk truck just tune and bolt ons with the lack of traction lol.

I am sure you dont have traction but 500hp in most cars on street tires !=traction.
