Hmm, it might be your BCM but then I'd kind of expect your ABS and TC to be hosed as well. Interesting problem, hopefully the dealership can figure it out .

Believe it or not, I had this come up on my '07 NA 2.4 G5 GT after two injectors went bad causing severe misfires. (Stealership said two were bad, not me. I think one was all) It got cornfuzzled somehow. They'll sort it out.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it repeats. Mine did this on a wet day when I first got the car. The message went away and never came back. It has been 6 months or so. If the issue keeps recurring, it's likely the sensor on the steering column. Warranty work.

Mine was a brake pressure valve or something to that effect. A hydraulic valve that would have cost $542 if not for warranty

ah mine flashes that once in a while, then goes away, its just the electronics being gay on u. unless it keeps doing it, i wouldnt worry, mine is still working. I once had that come on, and my cruise stoped working, then after about 20 minutes it was good again. The other day at startup i had engine light on, said something like "can bus off" i cleared it and all was fine. this is what happens when u got a computer controling everything on ur car.

The EPS system, including the TSC/ESC system is under investigation by GM because of thousands of complaints on 2005-2009 Chevrolet Cobalts. That is all the info I have now.

I had my ESC light come on once. Its been awhile, but i think the DIC also said ESC disabled or something like that. Was just going down the interstate minding my own business then it happened. Eventually it turned off on its own and has never done it again.........

hopefully that investigation will uncover something.

You are very right it was an angle sensor or something like that in the steering column now the car feels like new again except for that stupid dent in my steering wheel center cap :/

I havnt been on the thread since I sold my ss/sc but I had to come back and state what me and my bro found out today. He bought a new ss/tc back in april. Put 5500 miles since then. No mods. Hes 26 and not into tuning. As we were driving home to wisconsin from st. Louis this past weekend we noticed the ASC light, service ABS and a few other weird cells. I was the one driving so I notice right away when it happened. No abnormal noises or jerks of the car. We waited till we got back in MO to take it to the stealership. Got the car in the air and noticed that in the rear passenger side on the bottom of the shock mount thers a small wire loom full of small guage wires. well seems something came up and completely cut through the 1/2 plastic loom and wires. There could not be a worse possible position for this wire set. Litteraly the first thing that would contact the car from the bottom. Couldnt be more then 6-7 inches from the ground in the open. I wish I could snap a pic but its snowing and dark. Chevy said they would not cover it as its physical damage they say. This kinda sounds like hte OP problem but wanted to get it out there. 164$ to fix the wiring harness. sorry for the therad jack.

Good to here! It seems to be a common issue.
