Shifter install prob

I'm installing a B&M in my '09 SS/TC. I'm to removing the shifter assembly from the car and the SOB won't come out. I took off the four nuts holding it in. It won't come off the two driver's side posts. I don't get it, nothing is holding it on there, but it won't come off. Anyone else have this issue? thanks

is the rubber bushing stuck between the post and aluminum retainer??? i had this problem, it was a bitch. Just keep beating on it. I removed all the plastics covers so i could get better angles to finally remove it. Im guessing you removed the top piece that has the e-brake and shifter "holes" in it. remove the side pieces and use it for leverage

I got it. The problem was that metal retainer was pinched, so it didn't slide on and off like it should. What probably happened was the person installing it just used an impact and said F*** it. I had to take the whole console out and pry at it with my pry bar.

I love my B&M, yes the throw isn't that much shortened, barely noticeable if that. The feel though, is very different from stock, very firm and solid throws.

To OP, glad you were able to figure it out, good luck getting the old shifter knob off haha

I got it off np. I took a 1.5" bolt the same thread as the one in it, put that in with it hanging out about an inch. Put the side of the knob on the edge of my counter top, pounded the screw until the shaft fell out of the knob. Worked pretty good.
