should i buy the whole kit?

So sometime next month, I will be ordering a new intercooler kit and tune. I want the kit, but I feel its kind of over kill. I don't think a downpipe will be necessary at the power level I will be at.I will be getting treadstone since zzp cost so much. The question is buy th e kit or just buy the charge pipe and intercooler?

Why isn't downpipe necessary? It's not about u needing it cause ur making a lot of power and not needing it cause ur not making a lot, it's about it gives u 10-20 whp more when u remove the stock one and put on a catless

It's already catless. Also, my bad. Was in a rush, bit I meant the lower charge pipe to the intercooler.

You don't need either charge pipe, IMO. I've been running stockers for 3.5 years, without a problem. Have a few people blow the stock pipes? Yes, but probably 1% of owners. I've heard more issues from leaky couplers and piping popping off on the aftermarket stuff, so just get the DP and IC. Save some money.

theres more than u think and most blow the end tanks on the ic's, guy i tunned blew his, the only reason to get new pipes is if ur goin bigger turbo and also if u want to for yourself, for looks and some effciancy with the system no realpower gains at all. i agree with you don't nd the cold side pipe, ic isnt need either dependin on yr u have or if its already been replaced, gm made new updated ones for the 2010's with stronger end tanks, so if u go tune and dp and intake u'll be fine i beat plenty of ppl with that same set-up, just my advise if ur on budget for now also jus cut the stock intake up and make a short ram yourself, all it costs is a filter that was my first one n a tune n one cat cut out of the dp with res gone ran nice

intake, downpipe, tune is all you really need. Ic and charge piping is nice to have though.

It's an 09 and I'll probably get the intercooler and cp for reassurance. Already put the kn sri on it. Probably go trifecta.

The one thing about the stock upper charge pipe is that coupler. That thing flexes hard core under boost. You will notice a bit snappier throttle response from a pipe that doesn't have a coupler there like the Injen. I think ZZPs has a coupler but I believe its a 4 or 5 ply one so you woldn't have that same flex and theirs bends around like the stock one does.

That's good info to know. I will have to see treadstone cp comes with. I'm sure it has couplers, but I could be wrong....is there anyone else with these parts???
