SIGH... no gears HELP!!!

i was nls from second to third when all of a sudden i hear SNAP. i cant move the shifter left or right, and it moves freely through 3rd and 4th. i took off all the plastics and the linkage is just laying there. no bends and the plastic isn't broken. can i just snap the ball back into the plastic? and also how the hell do you get the shift boot off? is there an easier way(take in apart) because i cant really get my hands in there to just snap it on?

thanks in advance guys and gals. i might fall asleep. its been a long day. i just had to get it towed from Wisconsin to Illinois.

The TMW shifter has the pivot ball facing downward. I wonder if that has something to do with it falling off. Good looking shifter, though. Beefy.

Did you pop it back into place? Your symptoms were exactly like mine when the plastic retaining portion broke. I couldn't move the shifter left or right either.

Ok it is that plastic piece as seen in the picture above. Does anyone know where I can get just that part? I went to the dealer and just for that piece I need the whole shifter and its 350. The only thing I learned from this is nlsing in no gooda.

I might have missed it, but I'm assuming you are still under warranty correct? Mine was warrantied with no questions asked, it was a special order part and took a few days however. I don't believe you can get that part alone without replacing the shifter assembly, at least that's what the tech told me.

The exact same thing happened to me.

Yea I'm under warrenty buy I don't have all my stock parts and I can't get a hold of my tuner. I'm afraid that they'll give me **** about all the bolt ons. Even though the shouldn't have to open the hood to fix that.
