So mad at myself
So mad at myself
In the end of 06 bought an ss s/c and doing gm stage 2, and i/h/e. I then traded it in for an 09 t/c that was fully bolted and tuned. For some dumb reason this last year i bought 2010 genesis 2.0t and i want to ******* total it lol. It is the slowest thing ive ever driven. I have an intake, dp, and tune and i barley beat an s/c with stage 2. I miss my T/C
So if anyone every is considering a genesis do not give in. it looks good and all but not worth it.
Judging by most of the dyno numbers and the where i bought the tune at there usually at about 240whp.. They have an evo 9 turbo kit for it which brings it to about 300 then with all supporting mods hoping to get about 330. Bad part is its gonna take about 3 grand to hit but wont take to long to get. Might be pretty sick when its done though
sorry to hear man. many people on here have tried to sway those who are/were considering in "upgrading" to a Genesis from an SS TC especially to a 2.0T Genesis. did you test drive it before buying it?
Yeah I test drove it and I loved the looks... The exterior looks great and same with the interior. Just figured it would have more ***** when it was tuned but not even close. Problem its got such a small turbo that really 270 is maybe the most you could get out of it. Once I drop a new turbo in it will be a lot better just so many to chose from. I dont want to just pick one out and buy it trying to figure out the best choice.
the 3.8 Genesis is very slightly slower than a stock Cobalt SS TC. would probably depend on the driver with a slight advantage to the Cobalt. the only advantage the Genesis has is the RWD which would better support more power than the FWD Cobalt but would take a supercharger and supporting mods to make a 3.8 Genesis as fast as a modded SS TC in a straight line or around a track. the new Genesis looks like it will be faster with newer engines but I still would never consider a Hyundai.

This. I don't trust Hyundai, I've seen a few close friends and relatives have too many issues with new cars. My Aunt had a laundry list of problems with a brand new Santa Fe. Most recently, a friend of mine bought a '11 2.0T Genesis a few months ago. At about 2,000 miles, she tells me her car just made all kind of noise and she shut it off. Brought it to the dealership, the timing chain broke on it lol. So last week she calls to say its back at the dealership. This time, the turbo went out haha. All this with only 3,500 miles on the odo
You know I was in the market for a Genesis when I was looking at my SS/TC. Someone hit and totaled my other car so I needed something like NOW. At the time it was still 2010 and the Genesis was brand new. It was about 2-3k more than I wanted to spend. Also it's a Hyandai which has no racing legacy and it was a first year production. I wont by a first year car till the the bugs and improvements are worked out.
They do look good though.

Yeah mine is tuned what sucks is how for a good tune it was 650 bucks compared from the hp which was 250 for my balt. I love the genesis but i just miss smoking the **** out of every thing on the street haha. So now back to square one.

No one around here has had a problem. I thought i was getting mine for a steal since it was 17,000 with 5k miles on it. V6 was around 5k more. But yeah i love the car I just miss the balt and this forum lol
Genesis is a much nicer car, but I can see why you miss the 'Balt. I love this car. I originally bought it because I was down on my finances and couldn't afford anything nice. Now that I can afford a better car, I don't want anything else.
