Didn't you test drive that piece of **** before purchase. I went to Hyundai just to test drive the new Sonata and the Genesis. Sonata, very nice but too much sticker price. Genesis, WORTHLESS. Like driving a ******* Geo Metro with 5 of my overweight friends in it.

Hyundai has had one of the worst reputations in terms of reliability for years. Maybe they are starting to change that, but I'll wait and see.

no thats horrible... the gen coupes are very slow... you should have done more research... imo it is a better car than the cobalt. but speed wise. cobalt ss/tc will spank the **** out of it....

turbo XS has a turbo swap for the 2.0t. bigger turbo. and everything. whole shabang... iirc i think they said put down only 340whp? not sure exactly. but i think it was around there...

the 3.8 is a lot faster, and feels a lot smoother as well...

but the loud bangs, and huge fire ***** coming out of the 2.0t is pretty nice.

Genesis Coupe RSD Turboback with 2-step - YouTube

very end you will see the flame.

but 340whp is pretty lame, when some ppl in the stock turbo ss/tc can put down pretty close to that. and cobalt is a lot lighter car.

but the genesis is a lot more luxurious then a ******* cobalt man. be happy about the little things your car has that the cobalt does, like RWD

There are 400 whp + 2.0T Gencoupes out there. I am a member on Gencoupe.com the problem with the gencoupe is they have barely unlocked the shitty ecu that hyundai put in it. If people stick with it and actually put good internals in those engines the gencoupe would be a fun machine.

But I think you people get the wrong idea. The Gencoupe isn't made to go fast never was. Would I own a Gencoupe ... no probably not unless I wanted a DD and then I would probably just get the 3.8 because I wouldn't mod it much. But they do look nice and I have actually driven a few on the track where they are supposed to be driven and when all the traction is unlocked with a poweraxel tune those things handle like beasts and are fun as hell to drive.

Just my .02 not worth much though.

Well I wouldn't say its a piece of **** lol... Yeah I get its slow but I get a lot more puss in this then the balt. I miss the balt because of the speed and we all know we rape everything on the rode pretty much lol just wanted a change. I test drove it before I bought obviously and didn't feel like a metro so don't know why you thought that lol. But truly it is a bit slow but going from the fwd to rwd as a lot more fun to me. But like I said just miss the ss and the people in this forum I cant stand the gencoupe forum.

False. From 2003....

USATODAY.com - Hyundai's reliability rankings now tie Honda's

What you are saying may have been true 15-20 years ago, but it certainly isn't now. Plus that whole 100,000 mile warranty thing kind of makes it a moot point.

Who in the hell would release a RWD turbo vehicle if it was not meant for some spirited driving?

And you would be right. In Korea, even Samsung copies the new manufacturing style of Hyundai. They don't just copy and follow. The now lead the industry and have much more exciting cars than Honda. Honda has let the competition catch up and pass them. As an employee of Samsung, I can tell you that the Koreans are out for blood. You can thank unions for ensuring that manufacturing in the US will be far behind that of foreign countries and will remain that way for some time. When you're getting paid $40/hr to put a rubber plug in a hole, there's something wrong.

^this

When I was shopping last time 'round the new Gencoupe 3.8 was on my short list, and I'm damn glad I didn't buy it, grabbed a 2yo 350Z and loved it. Now i need a back seat so i'm in the market again, won't be a Hyundai, but a SS/TC sedan. The Lightning Lap time chart settled it for me, 3 sec faster than any other fwd is a killer arguement.
