spark plug question/help!

Not sure what plugs to use with the EFR 6258. What gap also?
This is on a 2009 ss/tc. Full bolt ons, EFR 6258. Tribeca tune 24-26psi.
Right now I have AC Delco stock plugs. Gap'D at .34.
Getting some back fire and blowing black out the exaust.
anyone?

not even gonna read the question and ill answer it, Stock Plugs. Nothing Else. Now lets read it....

Yup I was right. lol gap to .028 And for the love of God get rid of the trifecta tune, they are horrible at tuning the zfr. im sure ur fuel trims are all effed up that's why ur getting the backfire. but if its machine gun backfire at higher boost then its ur injector seals need to be replaced. I went though all this crap with my zfr. plugs, trifecta tune, injector seals, so id take my advice. lol

That's funny you say that about the trifecta tune. I'm in the process of tuning it now, today I got an email saying that the fuel trims seem to be off. Already payed for the tune so it will have to do untill I put my clutch in this summer. How do you like the hp tune?
Thank you guys for the gap info. I will re gap them today. Should take care of the back fire. It only does it when I let off the gas.

Check ur fuel trims with a scanner. If they are pig rich like trifecta had with mine, it will keep backfiring. Who is tuning u? Vince or the other guy? Forget his name

Like Tom said, regap your plugs and verify a few things with a scanner or scan tool (like your ltft and stft) to ensure your maf scaling is at least close. I'm not sure I completely agree with going as tight as .028 with your setup though, but I'm sure it's been working fine for Tom with his. I personally would stick around the .030-.032 range, which is where I have my own gap set at and has always worked well for me, along with any of the other cars with similar sized turbos I have setup with this engine.

As far as Trifecta goes. They're the king of "the log looked good" when in reality, it's pretty much total ****. lol.. Their tolerances for what is deemed "acceptable" is absolutely absurd in most cases. Which is why it's a VERY good idea to monitor some areas on your own and don't be afraid to question him if you doubt areas of the tune.

Forgot, hp tune is awesome. If u got a good tuner it will give u much better results than trifecta. Ya u don't have to go to .028 gap, .030 is fine. I'm running 28 psi and meth on the Zfr so my tuner suggested that . Been working fine.

Ahh, see I thought you were at a lower boost level so that makes a bit more sense. I should have assumed as much, considering how hard Term likes to push these turbos.

Well right now for winter I'm on a 25 psi tune. The 28 is my summer meth tune. We not done dialing it in, ran out of time in fall, car needed a new clutch and by time it was broken in it was snow

Yup that's who tried to tune me, he did an awful job. If ur going with trifecta , request Vince. My tuner fixed in one file what they couldn't in 2 weeks of files.

Are you running snow tires on that thing? I ask because my car running only 23-24psi on my conservative tune and hefty boost ramp on performance snow tires was straight up terrifying! lol

I could literally spin the tires down shifting to 4th going 80mph on the highway. Sometimes even when I didn't necessarily want to. Granted I run e47 all year round, but I could only imagine it being that much worse in Canada with the even colder temps up there. That was the first and only time my car will ever see snow tires, or snow at all for that matter.

Yup non performance snow tires. But doesn't matter I can't get traction for it to be scary. 130 in third , if I hit the throttle and boost my tires just break loose. It has to be warmer day and dry road to even have a hope of getting traction in the cold.
