SS question

Shoot me if this is in the wrong section. New here.

Alright well anyway.. I currently own a Scion tC as a daily driver but I plan on buying a 2009 Cobalt SS/TC as a track car. Before i make my decision i wanted to know what performance parts are even out there for this car. I've done some research but haven't found much.

I haven't even found any forged internal parts for the block.
Only thing on this site that had caught my attention was the Trifecta tune.

Can anyone tell me where I can find some decent parts so I can finalize a decision.
Move this thread if it is in the wrong section. I'm a little dumb sometimes.

The only forged parts we really "need" (if you want huge power that is currently unattainable with the fueling setup) would be pistons. But like northvibe said...what kind of tracking are you looking into?

If you're going to use it as a track car (I'm assuming auto-x), check with your local track before you start modding.

Some have restrictions on what is allowed, and what isn't.

No, I agree with stupid,Why would you CHOOSE a FWD car for a "Track car" when there are better RWD options. If you said "DD and track car" absolutely.Go get a 5.0 Mustang or an LSX car.Even an SRT6 is better.

Really? You just asked that question?Read the forums for about a half an hour, you'll be amazed how much you can learn. But, I'll bite, against my better judgement. What is your goal with the car?Long term and short term. And how much in mods are you willing to spen?

You're buying a new car just to run at the drag strip? I'd look at the neon srt4 since it can be had for dirt cheap or a dsm, or of course some older v8's.

ZZP has put their car in the high 11's with a tune, downpipe, ported head and 15 inch slicks. To get th 15's on there, they took off the Brembo's.Cmiller has gone 12.2 on aTrifecta tune, catless downpipe, charge pipes and slicks on 17's,which fit the SS and I believe are still for sale.If you want 11's you'll need aturbo swap, but mid to low 12's are possible for about 1000-1200 in mods.

CSS makes me chuckle, well the members do. Stop being retarded and answer the question like the two posts from Billy and KILLIN.....

And let's not say search function, let's think about it if someone posts a re post or a similar post... who cares gives CSS more hits and keeps it up and running.....well when it's running.

Don't include me in this.

Strip is in E-town/Atco

Track is in Millville.

well for low mid 11s you would probly be north of 400whp. So for that you can do a simple trubo upgrade with a supporting manifold and dp. Something like a 30 or 35r would do the trick.
A clutch to hold the power would be a must. Along wiht a custom tune.

It's a non issue. I know of 400whp out of stock LNF w/a 35r with more to go.

There isn't much room after that.
