ss/tc front brakes help

I looked in the how to and could not find anything on it. I need to do my brakes bad and have done other brakes on other vehicles and my own back brakes. Just wanted to know if there is anything I need to know about or any additional tools I might need thanks!

For the rears you will need a special tool to compress the caliper.

If you are only doing the pads, the fronts are SUPER easy. Remove pins, take out the little bracket thing and slip pad in and out.

I could not remove the pins on mine due to 2 salty winters and me not doing any maintenance. I have another salty winter coming up so i'll have to figure out how to remove/replace those pins next spring.

PB breaker, and a tap. Also remove the tension clip off one side and once they start moving its easy My car was from Illinois and it was the same thing after 2 years. Only thing i absolutely couldnt get was the top nut off the strut. Had to take the strut to the local firestone to get it off. Even a 600lb/tq air ratchet wasnt getting it off.

Depends on the car. Some are extremely hard to compress without either the cube tool or a real disc with the right prongs that attaches to a ratchet. I suggest spending $40 and getting the kit from Harbor Freight.

I once did a car with pliers. NEVER again.

That's reassuring... I tried this but i didn't go crazy with it since the pads were still good and i didn't want to ruin the pins without a replacement set ready. I read a post on here were someone had to drill theirs out so i figured i would probably have to do the same.

Correct. My brothers was a PITFA to do. When i did mine they were pretty simple and probably could have been done with a set of pliers. I couldnt have maintained pressure while turning enough to do his.
