Ss/tc in oak lawn, il?
What's anybody know about this ss/tc in oak lawn, it's got upgraded injen charge pipes, ic, bov, hks waste gate, wideband, and a gT3076rs turbo? I'm about to go test drive it, was wondering if they're on here or anybody knew any problems with it, thanks
The best person to ask would be Ryan (scythesnake) as hes from right around there. But dude to be honest if hes getting rid if a bolted and turbo swapped balt then there is a reason for it and it prolly isnt good.
That's what I was thinking, that's why I asked on here, the link is http://www.oaklawnmazda.com/web/iui/#_vehicle1199292
The dealer said its making 350whp, and it's only going for 15k I figure that's dirt cheap, but I've been out looking for a ss/tc for a while and have drove a few so I figured I'd test drive this one

Hmmm 2 things... #1 a turbo swapped balt making only 350whp is ummmm anemic. You can do that with a stock turbo and a good tune on ethanol, hell probably on pump gas. #2 the stereo says locked... so I believe that means the stereo has been swapped out at one time. A chevy dealer needs to unlock it I think but I could be wrong.
I would make damn sure you confirm that it has a 3076 turbo in there cuz just off hand that should be making over 400whp pretty steady. Poor tune, blow bye, horrible dyno numbers due to poor dyno setup, anything could be the culprit (for the low numbers).

Ok.... Figured I would chime in on this.... Not much to say regarding the bolt ons.... It very well could be that it is limited simply because the original owner didn't switch the clutch yet.... Mine doesn't put down that much (only turbo upgrad - no swap) and I have clutch slip at times. Didn't see anything about the clutch so I figured I would give the benefit of the doubt there.
Also, keep in mind that most dealers/salesmen know very little about these cars.... That could be good or bad depending on how much YOU know about the vehicle...
The thing that does concern me here is the locked radio.... Anyone who has done an audio overhaul can tell you that it is trickier than it seems. Personnally I have done both a PAL and a complete overhaul so I have a little experience here.... First, everything noise-wise runs through the head unit ( door chimes, onstar, etc.). If they did swap back and forth you want to make sure they did it correctly.... Look under the dash on the driver's side and check for splicing. They should have used the correct harnesses to make the install smooth. Check your steering wheel controls for your audio - they are usually the first to go. If the radio is truely locked (looks like it) you will need to go to a chevy dealer with a tech II. It only takes about 10mins to flash it but it costs 75.... At least this is what they charge to reflash for a PAL.
Good luck
