stage 1 for $150
stage 1 for $150
Alright before everyone starts jumping on me like you cant get stage one for that etc, hear me out. Alright i was on gm performance parts looking at everything that comes in stage 1 kit. And i priced checked each individual part, everything you really would need, everything but stickers. the only part that was not able to be found was o rings but you could get them at a hardware store. Anyways the total comes out to 150 ish before shipping and stuff. My question is if you bought everything like this do you think it would be considered stage 1 and get to keep warranty? Thoughts about this, maybe others have done it this way, let me know
instead of buying the kit with every part in it, you buy each individual part by itself, all the parts in the kit you need like sensors and pigtail connectors etc. lol premium fuel only sticker is not gonna increase performance just increase the bill for the kit
YEP! The serial number for the kit is printed ON the BOX and on a sheet of paper INSIDE the box. GM will NOT send the calibration without it. And the pigtails are more like $135 each. Unbelievable but true.
Where did you find the part numbers, by the way? Searching for individual part # on GM Performance Parts shows NO MATCH. And to correct my previous post the AUTHORIZATION CODE is on the 1st page of the INSTRUCTIONS, ON the box and on the sheet of paper inside the box.
No hits. No misses. No Kewpie Doll.

Yes each kit comes with a unique Authorization Code. You can not get the calibration with out it.
If you could get the calibration from some where else, when you go to the dealer your "flash" will not match the recorded flash of your vehicle and therefore can void your warranty.
Also I have found the pigtails discounted to $65 each and some dealers. List price is $135 each
Where have you found the sensors for sale?

All of your links eventually take you back to 19212670 which is the complete hard parts kit for all the LNF's. Bummer, ain't it?

Yeah, you aren't paying $500 for the sensors, they are cheap (as you have discovered) What you are paying 500+ for is the R&D behind the kit, the CARB certification, and the warranty. Obviously the kit will cause more stress on the car, so GM has to make up some money somewhere for the extra claims they will receive as a result of the kit. If R&D determines the kit causes a part failure that costs $x on 1/10 cars, then they need to up the price of the kit by x/10 to cover the expense.

By far the most expensive part of the kit is the calibration. It is calibrated and test in temperature extremes and altitude extremes. You would not beleive the amount on engineering that goes into making the kit pass 50 state emissions, drive nicely in all temperatures and altitudes, all the while remaining durable and proving it is with durability testing, so that we can offer the 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty.
All of that expense needs to be recouped in the price we charge for the kits, while offering the kits to the dealers at a reasonable price, so they can make their profits on the kit while getting it to the consumer (you) at the lowest possible price.
If GM could not make any money on the kit they would not offer it. So yes GM is making some money on each kit. The dealers would not be selling it if they could not make money on the kit. So yes the dealers are making some money on the kits.
They are brought to you the consumer at the lowest possible price that makes business sense for the entire distribution chain.

Yoy're right. With all the talk about hardware, programing never crossed my mind. I must give credit where credit is due. Sorry.
I'm WAY off topic here but will only post this one time.
We all did our job by calling and emailing Enkei requesting a competition type wheel for our cars. We succeeded. The wheel RP01, will be shown at SEMA? and released around the end of Dec. or early Jan. A BEAUTIFUL new LIGHT wheel. Check out Enkei on Facebook for a glimpse.
NOW we have to concentrate on Goodrich to build us some tires, Drag Radials, in sizes suitable for our cars. I emailed them on this and they got back to me saying they are seriously LOOKING at this problem as they are seeing more and more good press on the car. NOW we have to let them know there is a demand for some tires. The high performance road tire line up is FULL of sizes for our 18" wheel but very few drag tires. Let's all gang up on Goodrich with POLITE!!!!! emails and phone calls to their customer service department REQUESTING!!!!! tires for our SS/TC's. This strategy worked on Enkei and it WILL work on Goodrich if they hear from enough of us.
I'll start a new thread for this so I don't get beat over the head with a used supercharger for hijacking this thread. Please post any info you get from Goodrich on the new thread. "Goodrich tire news"
Thanks for the help with Enkei. Let's do it again with Goodrich. PLEASE try to limit negative, non constructive posts.

couldnt we just use the calibration code given from this site, lists it for ever lnfhttp://www.gmtunersource.com/images/stories/downloads/lnf_turbo_upgrade/LNF_Turbo_Upgrade_Kit_Installation_Instructions.pd f
That is the part number of the calibration you will need. To get that calibration you will need the Autorization Code that is on the sticker on the front page of the instructions on a sticker. Each kit has a unique authorization number.
