stage 1 for $150
stop being a tight wad. if you want GM stage 1, pay the $500 and get it. god forbid a company try to make money. why is our economy in shambles?

No I do not know anyone trying because they do not work....Think about it..The sensors have been out for nearly a year already (available on other LNF's)..Nothing has changed, its the programming that allows the car to read a 3 bar sensor is what was needed.
Lol the economy is not in shambles due to a thrifty shopper. And gm already made there money, did i not buy a brand new ss. did they not get bailed out by government. The reason the economy is in shambles is strictly due to greed. Big business wanting more money, mortgage companies giving loan out to people that they knew weren't going to be able to make payments. All the higher ups in corporations running the companies into ground while there making lots of money.
who says? why wouldnt it? its just a sensor that reads mass air flow, it doesnt need a tune to work. it just wont max out as soon as the stock one. guys put on the stage kit before the tune was out, they never complained. Im sure if there is a problem with the car not working with them, they can be recalibrated to work in tuning software.
how do u know they dont work if u dont know if anyone tried them??

And these don't read mass airflow, they read pressure. And there's no software that can adjust for these sensors.
it can be done, anything can be done. if gm can do it so can we. If the stock sensor can be modded to work with the stage 1 tune, which has been done, so can the 3bar sensor be modded to work without the tune.
the sensor just reads more voltage yes as psi increases, why would the ecu not be able to read more voltage? Wait and see someone will prove u wrong. maybe me.
oops i ment manifold pressure.

So you can not just replace sensors and have them work. You need the calibration or tune.
You're beating on a dead horse here. This guy doesn't understand a thing you're saying and thinks he knows more than the engineer that designed this upgrade. Let him spend his hard earned money, then take the time to install the whole kit, after he learns he can't buy just the sensors, and the car runs like ****. I did my own hard parts install (NEVER AGAIN) and drove to the dealer in spite of the warning from GMPP as stated in the instructions. The way it was running I was worried it was going to die any moment. I did make it. I didn't get a chance to make multiple start cycles so I really don't know how bad it was. The tech DID tell me when he started the car to take it into the shop he DID get a code. I didn't even ask what the code was. All I wanted was for the upgrade to work as advertised. WOW! Was I surprised, SHOCKED, when I drove the car away from the dealer. This was their first upgrade installation so a couple of techs were lined up watching me leave. I didn't dissapoint them. Or ME.
We all know who this guy is so when he comes on the forum asking for help we'll all get a big laugh.

The sensors have a set pressure vs voltage curve in them. The curve ( straight line ) has a lower slope the higher the max pressure rating of the sensor. Since the ECM will not be seing the proper voltage for the calibrated boost just putting sensor won't work. Also, there are actually 3 sensors, The Baro sensor inside the ECM, the MAP sensor on the intake manifold and the TMAP sensor in the intercooler to throttle body pipe. If at key-up the output of these sensors do not match you will set P2227 code which can cause you to go into the no-boost mode or restricted power mode. This will happen on the second key-up after the sensors are installed.
So you can not just replace sensors and have them work. You need the calibration or tune.

Now lets all let this thread die because there's so much misinformation here its not even funny.
The Map Sensor itself is over $85... You must have been dreaming to get all the goodies in the kit for $150.... Really.....

as far as i know, trifecta can and did with the stock sensors to read more than 23 psi and i have faith in them to be able to do it with the stage sensors.
First you're sure, then you have faith... whats next?
i dont think u know what ur talking about.
Im faithfully sure i do know what im talking aboot...
Just get the sensors and report back on how everything is working fine and dandy.

I am not bitching about the price at all, because if you want your warranty with no problems or hassle you open your wallet and buy the kit. If they want 1k for it, and you want peace of mind then do it. 500-600 for worry free performance isn't that bad.
Now on the other hand if you want to deal with the hassle and worry/don't care about your warranty piece it together and see what you get. I have a buddy with an HHR SS and he has the "stg 1" sensors and is hp tuned and has no problems with codes or anything and has had them since the kit came out for the HHR's. I don't know how different the computer is in the HHR but I would assume not much. He's not on here much but his screen name is SdgrS.

i would have, but it seems those sensors that where seen for $14 are the stock ones so still no way of getting them without buying the kit.
By far the most expensive part of the kit is the calibration. It is calibrated and test in temperature extremes and altitude extremes. You would not beleive the amount on engineering that goes into making the kit pass 50 state emissions, drive nicely in all temperatures and altitudes, all the while remaining durable and proving it is with durability testing, so that we can offer the 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty.
All of that expense needs to be recouped in the price we charge for the kits, while offering the kits to the dealers at a reasonable price, so they can make their profits on the kit while getting it to the consumer (you) at the lowest possible price.
If GM could not make any money on the kit they would not offer it. So yes GM is making some money on each kit. The dealers would not be selling it if they could not make money on the kit. So yes the dealers are making some money on the kits.
They are brought to you the consumer at the lowest possible price that makes business sense for the entire distribution chain.

+ they have give themself a buffer if anything does blow and they it needs warranty work..... In the end i have no problem with gm charging what they are and still keeping my warranty!!
