Stage 1 Installed - lame

Just got my 2010 back from the dealer. Power increase? Barely, if any. Very disappointed with this upgrade. Idiot mechanic at the dealer direct wired the top sensor, instead of using the wiring adapter because the adapter had a bad pin. He didn't' bother to call me so I could get a frikkin new one. No codes, premium fuel, quite frankly no discernible difference.

I haven't checked the wiring yet, but I assume if it was wrong it would throw a code.

Read comments here before ordering, I don't know if they were blowing smoke, or if mines broke, but this wasn't worth the $140 the dealer charged for install, let alone the 500+ for the kit.

It's a noticeable increase from stock. If it isn't then something is wrong.

Agreed. Huge difference. At least 4 or 5 mph difference in the 1/4 based on my experiences. They may have not flashed you. Check boost. At approx sea level you should see around 21lbs.

If you feel no difference they probably didn't flash it correctly, you'll probably get a baro sensor cel soon if it wasn't flashed correctly.

Actually the technician went out of their way to make sure you had a good connection to your MAP sensor.

However he didn't appearently wait on hold like I did for 20 minutes or so to get my ECM files updated.

You should notice a huge difference over stock with the upgrade. The flash didn't take or wasn't performed. There was actually a bulletin about the ECM updates not performing properly on some vehicles and they needed to be reflashed.

Take it back but don't be a dick about it. I direct-wired both of my MAP sensors and haven't had any problems from the connections.

I agree with all the statements above. Your flash couldnt have taken. I noticed a big difference. I can break free in 2nd all day long.

If they were blowing smoke I'm pretty sure someone would've called them out by now, 3ish years since the kit came out?

I love the gms1 upgrade. Should've came stock with this power, but I do understand slow releasing products for extra profit.

You should be able to break the tires loose through 2nd with GMS1 and nothing else - I'm with everybody else - something's screwed on your install. Especially in the cooler weather. When you punch it out in 2nd or 3rd - do you get a decent boost reading? Or is it no-different from stock?

I'd have to agree with everyone else and say the install didn't go 100%. I'm going to guess the new flash didn't go through.

A lot of people are saying "the new flash didn't go through" I'm going to bet the dealer didn't even know they had to update the flash. A lot of dealers still aren't familiar with this kit and you should go back to them and ask them to make sure your PCM is updated.

if the sensors are in and they didnt reflash. wouldnt that trip a check engine light and limp mode??

i had GMS1 installed last week and ****** love it. i cant break them loose in 2nd,she just grips and rips.

but i have new tires so maybe thats why they dont break loose.

but other than that i love it! well worth it + warranty!

It'll be hard to break loose 2nd gear with GMS1 if you have newer tires. But road type/condition/heat will play a factor aswell. With worn out Conti's it's very easy.

I have GMS1 and for the first week it was awesome! I noticed this week that it didn't seem to be making nearly as much power and it seems to be having a slight miss as I'm going up thru second gear. I don't have an engine code yet.

Any suggestions on what to check?
