What noise does your engine make when you have the hood open BEFORE your start it then start it.. And when your standing in front of it... Describe to full detail please ..

 

wtf huh? lol only noise most cars make are relays and the fuel pump.

 

Just got done looking at a 2009 and he started it as the hood was open and it ticked pretty good for 20 seconds then went away ..

 

oh thats the hpfp it will always click, but will get less after some warm up. also if it was like a rattle more than a clicking then it could be a tensioner going bad. if its a high speed light click, and also a lot loud click going once or so per second then thats just the hpfp

 

What is the hpfp?

 

high pressure fuel pump. its direct injection... they all tick. think of diesels.
