What was the cause of the motor blowing? And how did you get GM to replace the motor with your mods? Nice car nonetheless

Motor turned out to be defective from the get go. I had been trying to solve a mystery to light knock (0-3°) for what seemed like forever since before I even had GMS1/ any bolt ons.

It had been in and out of GM countless times but they insured me it was fine and not to worry about it. Then about 1.5 months before we found the problem it started blowing white smoke. Back to GM who couldn't solve it.

Tried almost everything but couldn't figure it out; spark plugs, compression test, checked headgasket, cooling system, turbo, comp test cooling system, oil consumption test etc but everything was fine.

Finally Leakdown test failed in cyl #4. Opened the head and found scorching on the sleeve and piston. Turns out it has been like that since I bought it. Got worse over time though.

When gm saw the car it was on GMS1 and no bolt ons.

Thanks man!

PS Stealth, you are getting an LNF engine not an LDK. Not sure where you got that idea from. Anyway its great you are getting a new motor on warranty , you can thank GM very much.

Haha yeah man I joined a few years ago but never really used it until my local forum died (OCC).

On another note, Im picking up a S13 240sx shell on Sunday. It's a 91' coupe and it's frame rails/pinch welds are mint. Scooped it up for $500 so I'm pretty stoked! Was thinking of adding what I do to it as I build it if anyone would be interested in seeing that? Heres some pics from the add, it doesn't have those wheels or that motor tho.
