I think aluminum dissipates heat better, maybe someone else will chime in......what's wrong with the Hahn CAI?

really up to you man. In all honesty, I wouldnt be worried about the extra 2lbs it may weigh. this isnt a raecar where ounces matter.

Is the stainless intake polished? or painted.

Stainless is way more durable. Aluminum likes to get holes in it in engine bays lol. At least my old injen intake did.

I was gonna say the same thing. Unless it fits perfectly, that aluminum, if rubbing, can get holes worn through the tubing.

The trouble with an aluminum air intake is they can get heat soaked under the hood which warms up your intake air a little. The main advantage is weight reduction.

Heat soak really is not an issue, when you are WOT there is so much air going through the pipe it doesn't have time to warm up significantly and it will also quickly cool from the incoming air. Where you get the air is more important in intake temps than the pipe material selection.

Aluminum weighs less and won't rust.

the aluminum intake pipe rubs on the stock bolts for the stock airbox... all i did was cut the little bolt off, no more rubbing... but if you don't want to do that, get a piece of hose to put over the bolt, or get the steel one

X2. My thoughts exactly. I have the aluminum one and as long as you make sure it is not rubing on anything you will not get any holes in it. It is very light indeed it weighs about 1lb so it is about 3-4 lbs lighter than the stock intake.

go aluminum if you make sure it doesnt rub (IE if it looks like it might rub in a section, put some type of cushion between surfaces) If you dont want to do that, or if clearances are tight, then pay the $20 for steel so you dont have to worry about it

exhaust... intake is more of a sound mod....

since you already have a DP you should finish your exhaust set up.

Intake. The stocker is pretty restrictive. A good intake should add 10-15 whp or so and it sounds so much better also. Stock catback flows well and if you have a muffler delete your car will be much quieter after you add the catback.

The SS/TC bottlenecks are the stock air box and the stock downpipe. The catback, like Terminator said, flows pretty well. A little performance can be gained by going with a 3" catback, but it's not a big bang for the buck. It's more of a sound thing.

X2. It may add 3-4 whp at the higher revs, I got mine for sound though. It is finally here

The stock cats dont flow that well and GM put a nice big crush spot at the O2 sensor so it does not flow that well unless you cut it off right at the flex coupler and redo the whole thing. Just get an aftermarket catted or catless DP. Intakes will all make abou the same amout of power with a tune so go with whichever you like the cost of and looks of. If you have 300 to spend I say AEM. If less money get Dejon's intake for around $170 including the filter. I like the look and sound of my Dejon SRI.
