Stock Clutch?!?
Stock Clutch?!?
I have a 09 cobalt ss tc sedan (white) and am wondering if theres any way to determine if i have a stock or aftermarket clutch. My old SRT4 had a plate under the tranny you could remove and see the pressure plate which you could see it was not stock. Is there something like that on the TC? Reason i ask is because well i hit 31k miles, bought the car with GMS1 and charge pipes and i added trifecta, downpipe, kn, forge bpv, etc. and dynoed out at 320/350 and did 6 pulls on dyno with no slip. Also went to the track did 4 passes with no slip. My clutch pedal is pretty firm compared to other cars ive driven but not as firm as my old SRT4 with a ACT 6 puck in it. My clutch grabs right at the floor but does not feel like a puck clutch. Anyways no slip and i want to go big turbo but nervous on the clutch but so far so good. IDK! I was talking with my brother and he said his clutch is not as firm as im describing and hes slipping at 330hp / 340 tq
Brothers car you all know him by his car lol

The inspection cover is on the front/top corner of the trans, near where the oil filter is. Hard to access honestly and you won't see much.
If the pedal is near the floor it's probably aftermarket, a normal stock clutch doesn't have a low engagement but a lot of aftermarket ones seem to.

Hi Joe's brother! lol
Can we trade Sedans? I'm dying for a whit one!
^This... mostly.
My KY Stage 3 engages kind of higher up closer to where stock engagement was. I'm pretty sure your clutch is stock - Seeing as that it had minimal stuff done to it and all.
Double check through that inspection hole and let us know what you find.

AGP makes intercoolers for our cars?
My KY jelly, eerrrr I mean clutch, engages at about midway up. Pedal is actually lighter than stock. You should be able to catch a glimpse of the pressure plate through that spot they are talking about.

Thanks ill pull that inspection plate off tomorrow.
And no agp does not make intercoolers for our cars but I had the agp stencil left over from my srt4 when I bought theirs few years back. Sick of people asking if I was turbo lol now its obvious
