Stock downpipe
Technically, there are federal laws preventing tampering or removal of the catalytic converter. If you replace the cat or cats, the new ones are supposed to go back in the same position as stock. Some muffler shops will refuse to take cats off for this reason. I'll bet money if you buy a catless downpipe, it will have a disclaimer that says it's only intended for off-road use.
Obviously, some places enforce the laws more than others. If you live in a state (like I do) that has no vehicle inspections and no emission testing, you probably have nothing to worry about. Other states are super **** about it, like California for example.
