I got a CIA but I would go MPx all the way. Why damage a part that you can put back on the car and sell stock to make some money off the mods?

Just order a DP. The cats are restrictive, but what's really restrictive is the crush in the downpipe. Just get a catless one.

What is the point in maintaning the stock look for your downpipe? You can "punch out" the cat, but it still won't be a three inch pipe and you will still have restrictions. You will have a code set also, it just may take some time.

I gutted my stock DP. I did it to maintain the look of a stock exhaust system while gaining a few ponies too. I had a shop do visual inspections when I went for my sticker so it was the only thing I coudl do at the time. Plus, I was being cheap. Gutting it will still throw a code.

I am getting an actual 3" catless DP soon. I feel there is a little more to be had from it seeing as the stock one is crimped in the middle. I'm not sure what brand I'll go with... I'm feeling pretty loyal to ZZP lately....

Better wear a mask. The cat material can be extremely carcinogenic.

Honestly, I'd just keep your stock dp the way it is...no gutting out the cats

Just buy a catless dp from MPX, ZZP, Badmab, etc. there not that much

Like the guys above have said ...... that crush in the pipe where the o2 screws in is a pretty big restriction.

Plus with how cheap a cattless downpipe is .... there is no reason to ruin a 700 dollar part that you might really need someday hehe.

I just installed a carted mpx with their catback and couldn't be happier. Like the sound and no cel. A few more mods and then a tune. Kept the stock dp and catback just incase anything major happens I can throw it back on and take it to a dealership looking stock. With just one weld at the rear muffler if I ever need it. I can say from exp the mpx is a easy install and a great fit and included a vibrance 02 neck to make sure the high flow cat doesn't throw a cel. I have had many catless cars and honesly I don't think the cat mpx uses has much restriction since it only took a week for the exhaust tip to turn black as my catless TA. Also you can smell a lot more than a stock exhaust so I would have to.say it should be anymore and a few HP loss over catless but looks legit when inspection time comes incase my usual shop is not close when I need to.go there or if they happen to swap inspectors to ones not so cash friendly

I have a catless badmab from my wrecked balt. Wasn't damaged at all in the wreck and I pulled it off before the insurance company took it. You can have it if you come pick it up for $50. Id prob call it $100 if I were to ship it myself. Kind of a hassle.

Edit: I take that back, you may not want to go for a 6hr drive to come get it so $100 shipped.

I don't really notice it much anymore but it is pretty noticeable in general. I smell it in traffic and if I walk behind the car. Others tell me my car stinks lol.

I'll take some. Its been sitting in my garage since I took it off. Its a lil rusted on the outside, I guess from road grime and heat. But If you buy one and use it for a month it will be rusted too I'm sure. Still looks hella better than stock.
