Stock mode vs Competition Mode Dyno?
Stock mode vs Competition Mode Dyno?
Anyone done a comparison on the two modes? Just curious , cause the balt seems to be more aggressive in the comp mode. Seems to come alive sooner than when out of it. My first thought that is they are the same, but my butt dyno says differently. Anyone see if there is a timing change or any difference at all between the modes. Or is it just a placebo effect?
The only difference I feel is (of course the suspension) & the handling capabilities... And of course whether your car cuts power or not (TRACTION).
But also, I have realized that the clutch engages in different places depending if Competetive Mode is activated or not...

Umm.......you have to dyno in "ESC OFF" mode or else your ABS will screw up the dyno. You shouldn't dyno in Normal or Comp modes.
And yes it does affect handling, not suspension, but just the cornering etc. There is a different setting for stability control in the Competition Mode vs normal mode.

TC off is good for snow, i use comp mode a lot it allows a lot more action before the ESC kicks in, and it enables launch control. This is also the prefered mode for NLS. The ESC off mode i have only used in parking lots full of snow having a lot of fun. you have to hold the button for about 7 secs and thats annoying especially where comp mode is pretty forgiving.
Ive personally had mixed results using NLS in other modes. With just traction control off, I will occasionally get a misfire during a NLS that triggers the Check engine light (flashing), backs off the power drastically, then recovers a second later.
Obviously with traction control on (in Normal mode) NLS is killed by the TC, because it detects the wheel spin and tries to put a stop to it.
Ive never had the misfire issue when in Comp mode doing a no lift shift.
Weird...in mine, unless I has the ESC all the way off, the car thought it was going off a cliff and started pulsing the ABS to regain control. Car started shaking like it was in the hands of a 3 year old.
Mine did not do that at all with just traction control off. No weird issues at all.
I dont think my car did that at all though I was sitting in the car and I think I would have felt the brakes engaging. I think when you turn off the traction controll it turns off that ABS function because even with ESC off your cars ABS still functions it just does not brake the front wheels because it thinks they are spinning.
I dyno'ed mine in normal mode and the dyno was fine....? Not one blip.... Guess I will have to go back and try again. My dyno chart is floating around here in several places , one can take a look at it to see.

Were you guys using a dynojet?

Normal Mode
Comp Mode
ESC Off
I have never held the button down for 7 seconds like you said..
I just push the button once to get to all three modes.
What happens after you hold it down for 7 seconds?
