the only person i know who has that gained about 5 whp and lost wtq. (hiltu). i have always heard people say you gain 35-40 whp but none of those people actually have it and no one, that i have seen, has gained anything from this mod. on the contrary, it actually was having problems with making a lot of compressor surge.

Hiltu is the only one that has had that issue, he says so himself from what Ive seen him post.

I plan on buying this since I have a spare stock turbo. Im going to PNP the turbine housing myself then send it for wheel upgrade with 10* clip. Like I said earlier, hoping for ~375 out of it.

Yep, Hiltu is very helpful, he answered all my questions and fears about getting the turbo wheel upgrade. He told me the same thing as he has posted, that his car is a freak and is the only one having a tough time with the turbo wheel upgrade.

after the clipped wheel upgrade and shipping and everything else it'll be ~ $1000. I dunno. That sounds like a little too much for just a compressor wheel upgrade

Cheaper then changing to a different turbo still! Look at what the GT30 costs to be a direct swap

What's the advantage of this wheel upgrade? Can we run more boost efficiently or something?

Your average hp rating will go up and you will make power up to and past 7k rpm where the stock turbo falls on its face well before that. I am sure there are allot more performance benefits to this upgrade but I don't have one to tell you and neither do allot of other people. I did a entire post awhile back about it but it seems BTF got busy and never really unleashed the true potential of this setup.

This thread is old but it still has allot of great info in it so ignore all the stuff that we have figured out. LINK to old thread for those interested.

Hahn will be releasing their s20g turbo upgrade probably within the next few weeks. Est. price should come in at around $1000

Sup Bro,

Hey, I bought the K04+ upgrade from BTF. The cooslest guy ever. So as you can see i crashed my car and never had the chance to install it(****!). If I were to get a SS/TC again though I would sure as hell get the K04+ upgrade again.

I have spoken to Hiltu before and YES, he did have the comp surge issue but once he got the a tune it went away. Now, don't be expecting huge numbers, look more on the side of Endurance. This updrade like someone mentioned above will be able to hold your powerband pass 7K. I personally went this route because though I wanted to make power, I wanted to make it without sacrifising any my fast spool up.

This is my plan if I were to get another:

1. BTF K04+ upgrade
2. Hahn intercooler
3. CIA SRI
4. Synapse 3" downpipe
5. Hahn 3" Exhaust
6. CIA Performance Piping
7. ZZP vavle spring upgrade
8. ZZP Tuning
9. GMS1 sensors
10. Dash DaQ
11. Suspension upgrade
12. TTR Sway bar
13. Machine polished Exhaust Housing(BTF) this is what I had done to mine.

I'm sure that if I were to stir this all in a pot, you all would be surpise with the power potential that can be made. These are my plans for my Saturn Sky.

Hahn tends to be very expensive I doubt that the turbo upgrade would only be $1000 but that would be sweet

Hey man, glad to see that turbo is gonna be put to good use!

I work at Performance Autowerks (check the Solstice forums for us), and we have done this upgrade on a bunch of Solstices. We have never had issues with surging, and have never lost power, or torque on them. Our average gain is about 35whp, which is a decent gain. I would expect to see 375whp very easily on the Balt. That was my intention with that spare turbo was to push for 375 on the upgraded wheel.

It will not put any undue stress on the turbo, as the bigger wheel will actually decrease the RPM's the turbo needs to spool to make a certain lb/min. The turbo is much more efficient than the stock one, meaning it makes more power, at less boost levels because it is pushing more lb/min per psi.

Here is our thread on the Solstice forums... not sure how much info is actually in there, as I have not looked through the whole thing.
