oh btw, with a turbo car, after the turbo ANY backpressure is to much.
you will make more power with a turbo car if you dump the exhaust immediately after the turbo.
n/a or s/c cars are a bit different.

It's just nice to see there are some people on here that know what they're talking about lol. I've been seeing way too many people with lack of education to these cars or even cars in general.
you say turbo back, do you have muffler or is it just straight pipe, if straight pipe does it sound raspy or have a deeper sound. not V8 sound but deeper
weird because when i had my 3'in cat-back on my car felt slower.. then the 2.5' stocker

You do realize there is almost 2-3 times more pressure in the turbine housing than there is on the compressor side? And you say you want some more back pressure? Ok...
299$ shipped was only good till the end of sep. dont quote me on this but its my understanding that synapse is making a cat back for our cars, and i am goin ot wait for it. im not goin to specify the details they told me about it cause i dont know if they want anyone to know, but it is goin to be awsome. right now i have the catless dp form them on my car with the stock exhaust and factory muffler delete. so basically one factory resonator is all i have. its sounds awsome except if you shift to 2nd early and then go to full throttle when it hits 2500 its pukes so to speak for a second. 08cobaltss heard my cobalt at lords town, but at that time it only had the muffler delete with the stock dp ,he could tell you how it sounded , and his car i believe has catless dp wiht hahn 3" and muffler delete. its sounds awsome, but (nothing against it ) i think the synapse is goin ot sound better wihtout having to cut the muffler out.
For a week or so I ran my SS/SC mufflerless, it was so loud it was unbearable.

On STOCK turbo cobalt a 2.5 should be fine. Going to a 3 inch will not net you anything but more sound. However, if you have higher horsepower plans in the future then a 3 inch is the way to go if you can stand the drone at speeds on the highway. Basically in stock form you are not really able to utilize a bigger exhaust. The higher the horsepower, the bigger the exhaust. 2.5 inch to 280ish then 3 inch should be good till around 400-450.
