Strange boost issue, opinions wanted
I have a ZFR turbo behaving in a strange fashion. What it was doing was it would build up 24 PSI of boost and dump it all without warning. It also dumps all the boost with only a slight decrease in throttle pressure. ZZP had sent me a medium boost canister to replace the high pressure one that was on it when it came, I think that may fix the issue. My thoughts are its waste gate related and the medium will fix the issue. ZZP said to back the high pressure waste gate threaded rod back one turn, I'm wondering if that may be causing a problem. Last night on the way home I noted it wouldnt boost past 5PSI. I didnt want to keep flogging it till I fix the problem, but I did try twice with same results. Am I right in thinking its waste gate related?

If the ecm cut boost during a wot pull and is limiting you to 5psi then you likely hit an overboost protection or there's an issue with one of the map sensors (possibly even a boost leak, but not as likely). Any codes? If no active dtc are throwing a check engine light I would still scan for pending codes. I'd be willing to bet there's probably at least 1 pending in there (Possibly P0106). How long have you been running the turbo on the car for and have you had any other issues with it?

I had a P0131 ( O2 sensor, I think that one may have been a fluke ) and a P0234, which may be the fore mentioned over boost situation. Not really any other issues so to speak, I'm still on my Trifecta tune, I wanted to get that issue solved before I log and switch tunes

P0234 is exactly an overboost code. That's your place to start. If that's the case then it's likely not a hardware issue, although it still can't be 100% ruled out. Either the tune needs to be tweaked a bit to accommodate your desired boost level OR you really did over boost for one reason or another. It's hard to say for sure without seeing a log and/or the tune file itself. Where did you get it tuned if you don't mind me asking?

Huh??
Sounds like you're talking about the BOV. Do what 09Cobalt says and tweak the tune. There's something off in the tune. It also sounds like it may be accompanied by a hardware issue. What is your target boost?

The vented diverter valve has problems the never really work right I would get the stock replacement from forged. Your car will run better and you won't loss boost.

This happened to Alerosaint too. He would built boost and it would just let off automatically. It was his boost solenoid sensor that went bad. Look into it if it's not your MAP sensors.

Target boost is 24PSI, I have a set of 3 bar map sensors/harnesses, I might as well put those in now to rule out a bad map sensor, replace the boost canister and datalog to tweak the tune ( also have map rescaled of course ). Should have most of those bases covered then. I never realized the Forge atmospheric bpv could be problematic. If problems persist I will just put the stock ZFR bpv back on. Where is the boost solenoid sensor located?
