I was on another forum and came across this:

Superchips Flashpaq & Cortex tuners for the GM 2.0L Turbo Ecotec
Hi,
I've been on the phone with Superchips a couple of times today and I've read through some forums where there is a lot of misinformation about this so-called "learn down" feature in the programming of a Cobalt. Superchips engineering has assured me there is no such "learn down" function in the Cobalt, HHR, Sky Redline, or the Solstice. What there is though is a torque management function and a limit to the amount of boost that can be applied before the car is placed into limp mode.
* Torque management is removed when you install the performance tune from a Superchips programmer.
* The maximum boost that can be applied is 23 psi. The Superchips tunes will bump the boost up to a safe 21-22 psi to avoid hitting this limp mode lock and that 23 psi can not be exceeded.
With the Superchips tune installed, the owner will see the full benefit of any additional mods EXCEPT for a larger turbo or MAP sensor to read above 23 psi. You can not go above 23 psi, but other than this, there is no learn down feature or restriction on the horsepower gains from additional mods.
I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Cheers,
Lloyd

Can anyone corroborate this?

There's a sticky out there I believe "Everything you need to know about tunes" Like others have said here, I would not go Superchips. No logging or adjustments, merely a flash and that's it. It also doesn't take into affect the mods you have. From my understanding it turns up the boost but makes little to no adjustments for things like an intake, exhaust, etc. You get the most gains out of these mods by tuning specifically for them, not putting a canned tune on and hoping it picks up on everything you've added. Given the fact that it's $319.99 most places, and Trifecta tuning is $299 I don't see the benefit. Personally I would go HPT but that's just my preference. They def gave him a sales pitch.
