Superchips tune,....must get colder plugs?

Been reading that for the most part, for every 50hp you should drop one heat range on your plugs. Well SC says it adds 40hp,......car runs the nuts. Should I leave well enough alone?

Thanks

Not necessary at all. I am on stock plugs still and the car runs great. Colder plugs help the SC guys prevent detonaton because their IAT2s tend to be 50-100* hotter than our turbo cars. You should change your plugs about once a year though if you are tuned though because the hotter EGTs burn them up quicker than normal.

Your welcome. Gap is best set at 0.030" to 0.032" which is just a tad tighter than stock gap which is 0.035"

If I am having no issues (Stumbling from spark blow out at high RPMs) should I not mess with them?

No do not bother until you get to about 10-15K miles on the car with the tune. Then you should replace them.

I've been running the SC tune for about 6K miles .... Stock plugs with a .032 gap....been fine . The SC tune is pretty mild so there really isn't any need to change anything .

is there a write up on this? I found one for the LSJ on here.. i'm sure its easy and i'm confident I can do it myself anyway, but its always nice to know what to expect when going in

and just get the AC Delco plugs? got 19,000 miles on my car, been tuned since the summer... probably need to do this... I had already planned on bumping the 25,000 mile service up to 20,000 anyway
