Synapse Motorsport Dyno Tune on our Cobalt

We got a chance to tune the cobalt today with our new HP tuners software. We picked up 100 ftlbs of torque over stock and 35whp. We were running roughly 23psi of boost on the stock turbo. 93 octane fuel. The gains you see below are very common for turbos being pushed to its limits, the torque gains in the midrange are massive, yet horsepower doesnt go up nearly as much. The car is a LOT more fun on the street.

Modifications to the car:
HP Tuners software tuned on our dyno
Synapse Motorsport 3" catless downpipe
Synapse Motorsport 2.5" aluminum charge piping
Manual Boost Controller at ~23psi

final results:
360 ftlbs/275 whp
stock:
260 ftlbs/240whp

holy crap!! Good work. Can't wait to see what turbo swaps are going to look like. How does the direct injection like the extra boost on stock turbo? when do you expect to reach the DI limits?

the fuel system has shown no signs of leaning out at this level, and we are running it a bit richer than stock.

3 words..

hit the track...

some more words..
i shat..

even more words.. catback, intercooler and intake i don't care what anyone says thats good lol even just based off the hp gains.. 35 whp on 1k worth of mods.. thats pretty good.. a turbo swap is going to be unreal on these cars... i think we're going to find out how much these engines can take very fast

that midrange power is crazy low end not so much

WOW!! This just made it 10x better that I picked up an SS/TC. Now aslong as the motor can hold up and the tranny, I can seriously see an intake, catback, aftermarket intercooler, and some DR's SS/TC run deep into the 12's. And that is with a tune.

I didn't think they would be able to tune this ECM for much longer then this! Is this a beta or something? Either way it looks like that small turbo is going to hurt us. It is nice to know that the fuel system is keeping up though. Thanks for posting the dyno and good torque number!

Expensive, but yeah its out now. Sucks to have to spend about $4000 for the mods to consistently run with a stock turbo SS/TC, then have the big turbo ones untouchable by damn near any normal LSJ.
