Question Things to get before a tune?

So I am getting a 24psi HP tune on 93 very soon from TERMINATOR 2, and after being on here, I have noticed a few things people say are pretty mandatory to do before an AGGRESSIVE TUNE.

1. NGK IRIDIUM spark plugs gapped at .035" = $30set
2. DEJON bypass valve spring = $10
3. UPPER intercooler charge-pipe = $200-$300
4. INTAKE = $120 for upgrade tube/filter, $200-$300 for sr or ca intake
5. DOWNPIPE = $200-$300

Is there anything else people can add to this, or a response to the things I have on this list would be appreciated.

Well after some experience, I would say that the Downpipe, intake, charge pipe and intercooler are probably the best ones. No one has ever mentioned the Dejon spring to me. The stock AC Delco plugs are fine and are the same thing as the NGK ones so you might be able to save a bit there but not much.

Ask lots of questions. It will not only help you learn but it will also help your tuner understand what you want. Have fun.

the spring is supposedly stiffer and allows you to hold boost better, and the plugs are supposedly one-step colder for the added power.
I have the down pipe and muffler delete, but will probably get the ZZP upper charge pipe and intake tube as well as the plugs.

you can get all those parts for much less i would get them used and check out the for sale threads on here save yourself a lot of money

and yes like others have said the stock plugs are fine so you can buy fresh ones if you want and you gap them at .030 not .035

i wouldn't waste the money on the spring i would just either stay stock or get the forge bpv

You don't need the spring and stick to stock plugs. Also, purchase the 3 bar MAPs and adapter cables if you're going up to 24 psi. Increased accuracy.

you don't need the 3 bar sensors it has been proven the stock ones are fine and he has the analog boost gauge so he is fine he will be able to read the boost

Technically yes you do need the 3 bars for accuracy.... People have said yes keeping the stockers are fine but even making your custom Pid to see higher then 23lbs with the stock sensors you won't be able to see it correctly.

okay, so the 3 bar maps/plugs looks like it might go the list too.

Any responses to the dejon spring or anything else?

I think I just threw away my dejon bpv spring. If I would have known, I would have given it to you for free. Let me check if I still have it if you're interested.

Also, I'm curious about this 3 bar adapter. Is it plug and play?

I will be getting tuned in the spring as well.... Why is the upper charge pipe a good thing? I am only going to 21 PSI and the only aftermarket I was thinking was the SRI and a catch can.

The spring helps with boost leaks, if ur goin over 20-21psi I wud get it, I would also gap the plugs to .032 and there is no reason to get the 3bar, the stock hot-side pipe is known for crackin n poppin off under higher boost and is very restrictive

get intake, downpipe, charge pipes, intercooler, intake THEN tune
stick to stock bpv spring. if anything buy the forge bpv.
ive heard bad things about the spring.
stick with stock plugs, if you do go NGK plugs dont go one step colder. they tend to misfire and ****

Damn right!! Best thing ever made. They eliminate the need for the labor cost associated with wiring in the pigtails and also the issue with bad connections. They are the shiznit for only $103.

Keep us updated on your progress, Aaron.

There's nothin wrong with the stock bypass and the spring is worth it, its widely known the stock spring leaks, especially with uping the boost,

My opinion, yes, that was the first thing I switched n technically u can buy one at a hardware store for like 3-4 bucks, its quick n easy to do so why not, I found out from my friend after I bought the dejon one about gettin one from the store but still is it actually needed as always a matter of opinion, u got mine

The Dejon spring will help hold boost better at higher RPMs, get it.
