thinkin of getting
I used to own a 06 ss s\c, it had some upgrades, stage 2, exhaust, cold air, the usual basic upgrades, and a few extras to help with wheel hop. Anyways i was in a car accident, (not injured thankfully) but the car was totalled this happened beginning of the year, anyways now i own a cobalt ls 08. Well recently i've started to want another fast car again, i loved the cobalt it was my first car i bought that was brand new and was fast. Altho i was unhappy a tiny bit with its launch, i know it was fwd, and it was great at killing cars from a roll, but i just want peoples honest opinions is this new turbo balt, much different as far as launches and races from a roll, as a stage 2 cobalt s\c?
I have the Hahns tune with drop in filter. Everything else stock. Just a rolling full throttle start in first will smoke the tires. A rolling 2nd gear will barely hold grip... depending on the surface.
So launching is not really my friend but it flies in the upper end once I get some hook up.
Much better handling and braking so I've heard. (Never owned the SS/SC)
But I had a moddified RSX Type-S and this brakes much better and certainly out accelerates it. Handling edge goes to my old RSX-S but not by a whole lot.
Power, handling, and braking were all upgraded on the RSX also.

Cusco front and rear strut tower bars
JDM (larger) rear sway bar
Sticky low profile Z rated tires.
Grip in a turn was probably very very close. But certainly no question at all the Acura transitioned MUCH MUCH better. That thing was quick as a cat. Flick the wheel and that sucker moved that way right now. It was pretty crazy.
But I wouldn't take it back for the SS/TC.. no way.
lol throw some coils, rear sway bar, front sway bar, better tires, and youll see what car is better in handling haha... I had a acura rsx guy tell me that acuras stock can handle better than a ss/sc
I've never been in a SS/SC but I've heard of people complaining about the understeer. It might be believable. Before I did anything and just had the wheels and tires it wasn't bad at all.
