Throttle body?

I did a search and found nothing, and if there is a thread please provide a link. Has anyone taken there throttle body off yet? I haven't really gotten a look at it being that it is up side down and all. Is it the same as the LSJ? I was kinda hoping it is due to the fact they already have a solution to a bigger TB. Any info would be great. Thanks!

I suggest you keep the stock throttle body, the ecm uses the pressure drop across the throttle body to estimate airflow.

Wouldn't HPT fix any problem that might arise? If the throttle body is the same as the others(LSJ) there shouldn't be a problem because they all work the same just some are bigger like the trailblazer etc etc.

No idea, ask Chris from hptuners, he's the one pulling his hair out trying to figure out this ecm.
Besides are you really pushing that much airflow that the stock throttle body is limiting your horsepower? And are you going to port match the intake manifold like you should or just slap it on like majority of people are doing.

No at this point I am not pushing that much power to need a bigger TB but I would like to no if it is an option in the future. As far as port matching, why would you do it if your not going to port match it? That really defeats the purpose.

No doubt, but when some people say "why would you do that, its too hard, wah wah wah" it just blows me away.

The s/c cars you are sucking unboosted air through the tb. When you increase airflow you would need more area. On the tc cars you are blowing compressed air through the throttle body. Without a higher ve of the actual engine, not turbo, I doubt you will need a bigger throttle body. Only one way to tell though. Compare wot boost pressure between the 2 map sensors.

You would need to tune for the ls4 throttle body because it will increase the air flowing through the t/b. I disagree that it would be counterproductive unless you do it without a tune.

Thats kinda common since. I just wanted to know if anyone has checked and found out if it is the same yet.

It's pointless unless you bore the entire manifold. It's about 4" deep.
Seriously though your money is better spent elsewhere until the ability to change the area co-efficient in the pregrams is availible.
We've put over 400 to the wheels in the soltice thru the stock TB and manifold. no restiction there until were talking big power 600+.

I understand what you are saying but I am more interested in future usage. The throttle body can be found for like $40. BTF if you want to know more about the TB I am asking about here is a link.
