They both sound wrong to me .... it shouldn't sound like that ..... I'll upload a video of mine idling and it USED to sound like that before I replaced the lash and rocker.

Its either timing chain tensioner or ^
Mine is off and on with that sound. Sometimes it does it other days it doesn't

Please post those vids. I would like to hear what yours sounded like Princess. Was your tick off and on? Somedays it happens somedays it does not?

Thanks

I heard somethin weird when I was drivin so I pulled over popped my hod an i could hear it faintly.. had my buddy rev it up an it got more pronounced.. :\ its comin from the same side as that first video (driver's side) car drives fine for now, but i don't wanna blow somethin down the road

i have found two failed timing tensioners that make a faint tick at idle and i have replaced a set of lifters which tick more often then the di at idle. my guess is your loosing a lift which does happen sometimes. least you have warranty good luck

I have both the Direct injector foam pad out and the black bracket that used to hold the stock CP's on

I ditched it .. It might add some structural rigidity to the engine but as far as I can tell it's not needed and it causes a lot of people HPFP's wires to fray and arc or create a resistance enough to create random fuel cuts and really weird things but

heres a video .. Remember it's got no insulators on either portion of the HPF system ..

well had her into the dealer today, they phoned later and asked what oil i used and how often i changed it, good thing i keep record. so far they found a failing oil pump, apperently the pressure is 10psi lower than it should be, and some gaskets and seals leaking oil. must not be much cause i dont notice any missing when i change it. I read that royal purple oil causes this and i used it the last 3 oil changes, no more just to be safe. anyway, they ordered parts, and will take my head apart next week to see where the tick is coming from. doesnt know if ill need a new head, we shall update this when i know more.

this sound reminds me of the sound my old dodge aries used to make when the wrist pin went on #1. I dunno if these things even wear out anymore. Just a thought. My TC doesn't have that sound,

Well warranty may be voided due to they found my meth tank. They said it destroys seals and such. So I'll find out later. Cause they were also complaining about my catless downpipe. I said I'd remove the meth, but he doesn't know yet what they will do. Dammit.

well long story short, dealer said if we open it up and find that the valves are worn due to meth, cause meth takes the teflon coating off the valves and then they wear. (why did no one tell me this?) if they send the valve to gm he said they will void ur warrenty. but i dont wanna do that to u, and i also dont wanna **** off gm, so he said he will just put my car back together, and i should take the meth kit out and take it to another dealer or bring it back in a year or so. so he didnt void my warrenty. but the ticking seems to have gone away now that i took out the royal purple oil and went back to moble 1, but ill check to make sure. but ya meth kit will be pulled. will put it on my dune buggy. oh well it was fun doing the project, and yay to still having warrenty.
