TOB question for sebleroux

I've been talking with sebleroux, a member on here who had a a new TOB blow out after a clutch install. He installed a green TOB, which I thought was the LSJ TOB. Is there a difference in the green LSJ TOB and the black LNF TOB? Does the LNF TOB come in green and black? I assume the LSJ TOB is weaker because the LSJ has a weaker pressure plate. Any help would be cool. Thanks.

I think the only difference there is from what I understand is that the LNF one has a check valve and no green cover over the spring.

FWIW, I have the green LSJ one in mine.

it is recommended to the LSJ guys to use the LNF throw out bearing when doing a clutch install. it is a better piece than the LSJ throw out bearing. the GMPP clutch upgrade for the LSJ comes with a LNF TOB, hence it being a better part.

That makes zero sense. Something is wrong here.

What happens EXACTLY just before it breaks? Be very specific. There is no reason for this.

exactly. op sucks what you are going through but we do these jobs every week and I have never had a TOB fail..ever. Only one GMPP ever failed, and the kid was jacking around with it, tore the disc apart on the center section - we gave him warranty...

I live roughly 4 hours from you, labor here on a typical clutch job is around 4-500 dollars depending on how rusty the car is etc... book time is longer than that.

LSJ tob haS less travel than LNF tob, LNF is a better part.

I was driving in traffic and it started accelerating I hit 2 pounds of boost at 40 mph and it let goo clutch imidiatly started slipping then I lost full pedal pressure and the bell housing was pissing out fluid again, I really don't think I'm doing anything wrong tob do not have break in periods this has been clearified by ky and gm.

Are you positive you have the right pressure plate?

I would strongly recommend doing this job yourself. Its not hard just time consuming. You need to be hands on and take photos of what you find OR go to Powell.

sending your clutch out? well that makes not a lot of sense. The kentucky clutch kits I have seen, (installed on Revolutions car from Ottawa with ZERO problems ) uses the exact same Sachs clutch pressure plate you have and the exact same TOB (LNF style) Only the friction disc is different.

U have an issue here, and I am prepared to bet it is an install issue, that is probably 90% of the root causes of problems I see from forum complaints after clutch installs.

sad to say.

revolution's KY clutch pressure plate said SACHS stamped in it. a TC clutch pressure plate. looked pretty much stock to me. I did not test the pressure loads. The friction disc was metallic puck style. Revolution really likes his clutch.
