Tranny...fail and nosey tech......smh

To keep it brief I brought my car in to get the front end checked(hearing clicking noise). The tech put my car on the lift to find the problem, it's was the tranny. I asked if it was covered under warranty and they said that they really don't warranty transmissions but since it's internal noise we'll have to take the tranny out and go from there. After being slightly relieved the tech asked me if the engine was modified............why is he so nosey. Do u think he's gonna scan the ecu to see if I'm tuned?

of course he will scan ur ecm. They were told to do so by GM. If you are tuned then they can unwarranty parts of your car. So are you tuned?

you seriously tuned your car and brought it to the dealer for warrenty work, and are asking why there so nosey? Seriously? Its people like you that make them so damn nosey. You voided your warrenty, and your in there for warrenty work thats your trying to get out of them and your gonna lie to them about what you did to your car to get it for free. And yes there gonna scan your ECU. They scanned mine 1st thing b4 they even touched it. Wouldnt you if you were a dealership? Not only to check for tunes, but to see if it was throwing codes in the past related to the issue

Wow dude, calm down, no need to get them in a bunch.

I was just a the dealership with my Trifecta tune and a check engine light. The car was scanned YESTERDAY and replaced a bad MAP sensor with NO ISSUES. My car has been scanned two or three times since my tune has been installed. Then again, I do live in a BIG metropolitain area where folks are too busy making money and sticken and moving so they don't have time for petty BS like trying to void crap.

Blowing the trans because you tuned it is a little different. Its also a little bit more expensive to replace.

my question still stands.. ARE YOU TUNED?

if you are not tuned or are under trifeca (sp?) with that block thing you should be fine. and yes that noise or trans is covered under warranty. the clutch not usually unless it goes with low miles.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, but the dealership I go to really doesn't seem to get into it like that. I guess I'll soon find out being that I have a Big Turbo kit sitting here waiting to be installed. I'm sure I'll be bustin **** up soon.

I guess the real deal is: if you can't deal with the consequences then don't play.

BUT If we all members chip in two bucks we could help him get a new tranny, forget GM. LOL

Some dealers are more agreeable to covering stuff than others also. If you are in Detroit there are Chevy dealers everywhere. Not so much out here lol.

Shitty luck but no offesnse I'm a tech and I'd do the same thing bc if we put a trans in ur car and say u blow it up or have problems again we have then married the car and Weil end up loosing flag time on it figuring out what went wrong

of course trannys are covered under warrenty, go to a diff dealer. why does dealer have a problem with this, its not their money they are spending its gm's gm has to pay them for the work.
