Get some race gas! uses a lot less fuel and makes more power
just a one time fill up, then switch map back to 93 oct.

couldn't we just run like a gal or 2 of e85 per tank for a little more power/more timing?

Still need to tune trims but even if the car is within the limits of the.stock fuel system giving it e will lover stoich down so therefore more fuel is needed. So it may or may not work. Fuel trims need tuned in.

I realize it needs a tune, but wouldn't running a E20 make more power and still be on factory fuel system?

I was already running out of fuel, how can i use less fuel with race gas and still make more power wen i was already running out of it on E47? race gas =118 octane vs ethanol 108 octane vs regular 93 octane......

I want no more headache till the car is paid off so once we find a happy number ill stay there till i get spanked a few times..

Bc race fuel is similar in properties to 93. It doesn't burn nearly twice as fast like E does.

Race gas has all the energy density of regular gas without the low octane. Downside is that leaded gas eats up O2 sensors and its more expensive than either pump or E-85.

OOo, is that something we gotta tune for or can we just pump race gas in, go dyno and then go back to regular?

Only real difference is more timing can be run, but you do have to re-tune to take advantage of it.

Just run 2 parts 93 to 1 part e85 =~e35 and about ~98 octante equivalent or get the cams

I'm sure it would skew the trims too... Or I'd imagine so.

It burns a little slower, but the energy content is similar. Might be a few % but that's nothing, that's why we have fuel trims.

If you're in for a pretty heavy read, this has some great e85 information..

They show e20 ethanol blend has 97% of the torque capacity of e85 without the fueling issues.

I was talking to a friend of mines here who owns a shop and works strictly on Evo's and Sti's, He was an engineer for Subaru in hes early ages and He mention that by blending lets say 1 Gal of E85 to an existing Chevron gasoline that contains 10% already could give you the wanted E20 mix. and promises no Knowck issues and getting more power/ft,tq then straight E85...!!!!! How much true that is I don't know since He docent know much about our cars.

The article I posted above has tests done on a "2.0L turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine with VVA" Pretty sure it was a modified LNF, since they say they "Modified the engine for flex fuel use"

I want to try E20 first and see how that does and maybe try more, but i don't think it will take much more.

I have money set aside for the 5th injector, but i would like to see what i can get out of the stock fuel system safely first.

We have E30 at the pumps up here and we ran paintballer's car on it on 22psi and were able to run 20-21* up top. This is up from 16* max timing up top on 91 with no ethanol aka NOT E10. On E47 we are running 24* up top, simply havent tuned for more, but it has never knocked. We also ran it on E30 on the stock turbo. Definitely a large improvement over 91 but not quite the power advantage of E47.
