Trifecta Stealth tunes
No
There is a lot of misinformation in this thread about flashing cars with HPTuners.
Just because ONE car got away with it, doesn't mean they all will.
Just sayin
They don't check to see if the parameters are the same, they could care less about that.

The fact they sent my "programming information" to GM and GM claimed it was untouched leads me to my statements. Not like I just dooped a local dealer and Im running out telling everyone they can do it too...
Ok so here is the deal, I would rather hear from vince that a dealer cannot and will not find the tune even with it activated, and can he do the same Stealth tune in the hpt? Or could I buy a tuner from him and have it so i can reflash my ecm anytime i go to the dealer...?
And I was a lube tech at the dealer not a full gm tech thank you.

Grats you got away with it.
Do it twenty times with powertrain issues.
Watch your warranty go bye bye.
I'll bet a whole paypal dollar on it.

I know that he sends you a tuner when you buy a tune from him, that you pay a deposit for and you can keep if you really wanted too, but software expires in thirty days, I would think he could sell one that doesn't have expiring software....
If you are constantly bringing your car in for powertrain issues they will kiss your warranty bye bye regardless of what the programming info says...
It sounds like there's a lot of concern about how/which switch turns on the Trifecta tune. Would it be possible to use an accessory switch to do the job? I'd like to see a OBD connector with a mini switch that activated the tune. When you want to go stealthy just pull the plug and put it in your pocket for the next go round. Just wondering.
If you dont buy the cable you cant use the software anyways. If you buy the cable it comes with its own software. You can use it to datalog your tune and send the logs to Vince for ajustments to the tune. You can also check for codes. I have a cable and a OBD2 scanner which makes it easy to check different functions.
It is here that you will find the answers you seek... www.trifectaperformance.com
Vince can do it. If you have the cable Vince will check your logs and make the necessary adjustments. You need to attach the log file to your email and send it in. Its as easy as that.
The fuel tables are unlocked, but there is not a "final" E 85 tune for the stock turbo SS/TC. I was going to run it, but its not worth the bad gas mileage for a minimal gain on my car. If you had a larger turbo, its a different story.
So vince has the tune for e85? hmmmm....
Back from the dead....lol
well, if the stealth tunes are undetectable by basic scanning, then all should be fine unless something major happens.
Anyone have dyno numbers on the stealth tune with no bolt-on mods?

For those who don't already know, the Trifecta software also includes a built-in code scanner.
You can read DTC codes with pretty much any basic OBD-II code reader from Autozone, Walmart, etc. Yes, to read codes using the Trifecta software, you certainly need the cable and module. It connects the same way you would if you're loading a Trifecta tune into the vehicle. Instead of selecting "program," you select "code scanner."
if you don't care about the hidden tune right now you can get a tune for your car for cheap;

There is NO datalogging support with this tune, it is truly a "canned" tune. If you order this tune, and end up needing or wanting adjustments, you will be required to pay a datalog analysis and adjustment fee ($300 additional).
