Trifecta tune on stock TC

Has anyone here done the tune themselves (plug and play set up direct from Trifecta to your door) on a basically *stock* SS TC? If so, any feedback appreciated.

Get a Catted Downpipe if you can then get a tune. Know people who have done the plug and play tune from Trifecta, and have heard good things about it.

To answer ronn,
I did tune my stock TC (with k&N filter).
I have to say it's the best decision I ever made (car wise )
I dont have any number, but I can tell you this:
1)I'm pulling about 2 cars on a 335i from 60-100(R&T magazine ran a 13.3 @ 106 mph in a 335i)
2) My 12$ dynolicious software reported a 52whp gain over stock in the same conditions
3) My butt dyno confirms

So basically I'm pleased with it and surely wont be wasting any more money other than new tires, because your second gear will destroy them in no time

Go for it, great service also from Vince

Louis

dynolicious ftw! (if u can calibrate it / get ur weight measured properly) scratch that.... iphone FTW

Sounds like a great addition OP but like others have said might wanna slap a DP on it first and add a few more ponies and not have to re-tune again later. all depends what you want from the car and how many mods you are going to do with it.

GL with the car

I put my first Trifecta tune on my car with only Dejon chargepiping and Dejon SRI. My first tune was a conservative daily driver tune and I dynoed on a Dynojet at 289whp and 320wtq. I have a much more aggressive tune now but I haven't been back to a dyno.

I have only chargepiping, SRI and muffler delete as far as drivetrain mods... so basically stock, LOL.

Tune with the switchable tune if you want to keep yoru normal daily driver tune on it. People have hit 303whp and 333lb-ft 100% stock.

id just rather not play with my stock ECM just for fear something does go wrong and GM digs too deep then im boned. + i have 0 self control if that tune is selectable... it wont be a choice it will ALWAYS be on / thread jack

No, the car makes you have self control almost, it has to be in tc-off or competitive mode. Your gas mileage is better with it off and you can just chill. When you start the car it will be on stock tune and all. You'd be fine.

you'd be fine.... half the time i don't run with my tune on, for the mere fact it gives you better fuel milage, but with the flick of a button you have hp/tq... gms1 is nothing compared to any tune.

as long as you take care of your car you'll be fine, gm won't dig especially since your bone stock, and plus there performance section is going out the window.

i ran gms1 with the stock charge piping for the longest time, and had no problems whatsoever, i gave it hell a few times as well and no problems. now with trifecta at 24psi, i have replaced it, and again, ZERO problems.

Raced a tuned 335i + downpipe last weekend, and we were about the same.

bottom line, dollar for dollar the BEST mod for the money.

Ive got 2 different tunes, one activated by TC button, resets to stock on restart. The other is cruise control, car maintains power mode with Cruise off.

I ran the superchips tune (similar to GMS1) for a while, nice but it just wasnt sinister enough.

Put it this way...... Cars youd have trouble walking on when you were stock...... on a good tune it turns into a convincing beating.... It is SOOOOO much fun

So when you select the tune with the traction control button does it also turn off traction control too?
