Turbo whistle and/or spool

Hey guys. I am completely new to turbos and I am learning tons every day. I have a 09 Cobalt SS/TC. I love the sound of the turbo when I put my foot in it. My buddy has a dodge ram turbo diesel. He took this ring out of his turbo and the whistle was way louder. Like a suppressor ring to keep it quit. Is there anything like this on the cobalts? I want it LOUD!

when I got my K&N intake on I thought the turbo was eating the metal tube it sounded sooo aweful and scarey, lol. Then I learned that it was just the sucking sound of air through a metal pipe. Loud lil ******. lol.

Oh and turbo whine / blow off Increased almost to the max noise the turbo could possibly make with the SRI.

The short ram from k and n will make the most sound difference.

Intake, straight pipe exhaust, or a bigger turbo. But yeah, intakes make a HUGE difference. I didn't think it at first but after I put my Dejon Short ram intake on, holy hell.

My k@n is so loud especially at warm up and of course full throttle. The catless dp i put on yesterday also sounds mighty nice at wot, but hate the smell.

Dont forget guys that if the OP buys an intake HE NEEDS TO TUNE FOR IT TOO. Thats super important if you love your engine any

the K&N will be fine without a tune. it doesnt skew the fuel trims nearly as much as other intakes as long as its installed correctly. a tune would get the most benefit from it however saying you NEED a tune or else is false.

charge pipes will help the spool noise, intake for the everything else louder and the forge bpv may help some for the by pass noise you hear when you let off. But with an intake on I dont know how loud it is with the forge...My car is stored :/

I was under the impression that not tuning for it is bad. Its better for all around driveability. The consequenses to not tuning for an intake have been discussed over and over. Like higher chances for knock. Im not saying its evil not to tune but its highly recommended. I consider it a need. To each his own I guess.
