No need for liquid cement or tapping for a set screw with the twm. Yeah it is quite a bit more, but it won't give you any problems and make you wish you spent the money right the first time. If you search there are more than enough threads of horror stories for the hurst and b&m sts. Just trying to shine some light.

I had the B&M on my ss/sc with no probs at all. And now I have the Hurst on my ss/tc with no problems, put a little loctite on the threads and the set screw wont move. It may be install error on some peoples part because they are a pain to get set correctly but once they are set its good to go.

your going to find people who love and hate them all. I know of a few people who love the hurst, while I know of a few people who broke cables with the B&M and heard both that they liked them too. I have the TWM..had it for 5k miles, love it....it just gets really hot haha

I had 11k on my origional shifter on my 07 Cobalt SS/SC. No linkage break. I have a TWM STS on my 09 Cobalt SS/TC (traded my 07 Cobalt SS/SC for SS/TC). Have 1k with no problems. I can't believe the linkage on the OEM STS are plastic (el cheapo). Glad I got the TWM (mucho grande). You made a good choice going to TWM. I'm glad I didn't go to hurst or B&M.

TWM is by far supirior. I had a Hurst sts and broke it with in a month. Piece of ****... I then read on here that the TWM was the ****. I have had the TWM in my car for about 14 months now with a weighted shift knob and the aluminum bushings. It is the ****. Plain and simple. Solid, easy and perfect shifts, and you can't break it no matter how hard you try (though you shouldn't try, haha).

Your probably going to need to replace the white plastic clip then for the linkage. Either that or the yellow plastic thats on the actual cable is stripped and the needs to be replaced. Pics help as well.
Had my TWM Weighted Shift knob for over 10k. Its **** with no problems.

X2 ^^^ That is true. We need to figure out a ULTIMATE fix for this. Read over this thread, and somebody said about putting liquid cement, or liquid steel ( JB Weld), and maybe we can figure something out to fix that **** finally.
