upper charge pipe broke sensor!!!!

Ok so today i was driving to work and all of a sudden my cel comes on and my car goes into gay diarrhea mode... so i get to work, LATE, and pop my hood and found that the piping can loose and broke the sensor for fuel i believe...

so i been reading around and found out that this happened to a couple people and wanted to know if the dealer will cover this under warranty considering there was a recall for the mounting for the piping on the lnf's. i called the dodge dealer (couse thats were i bought my used vehicle) and he was like if its a broken part it cant be fixed.. only defects...

When he told me this i did some digging and found the recall thing out.. so im wondering if its covered or not.

Ohh and i just bought the car last week lmao, traded in my ss/sc for this one..

if its a recal or under warrenty still, take it to a gm dealer, not a dodge, dodge wont honer gm warrenty. only gm honers gm warrenty. doesnt matter if u bought it at a dodge dealer, u still get warrenty at gm.

Here's the reacall:

Component Description:
4. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION Bulletin Number: SB-09126
Bulletin Date: Jul 2009

Vehicle: 2,008 Chevrolet Cobalt
Summary:
CHEVROLET: SERVICE UPDATE FOR INVENTORY AND CUSTOMER VEHICLES CHARGE AIR COOLER INLET DUCT DETACHMENT - EXPIRES WITH BASE WARRANTY. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10032186

Details here:

Chevy HHR Network - View Single Post - Official TSB and Recall Thread

Purpose
This bulletin provides a service procedure to install a new stud and retainer on certain 2008-2009 model year Chevrolet Cobalt SS and HHR SS vehicles equipped with a manual transmission. On these vehicles, the charge air cooler inlet duct may become detached and contact the high pressure fuel pump connector. This contact could eventually cause damage to the connector, causing the fuel pump to become inoperative. If this were to happen, the Engine Power Reduced message would illuminate in the DIC and the maximum vehicle speed would be reduced to 20 mph (32 km/h).

This service procedure should be completed as soon as possible on involved vehicles currently in dealer inventory and customer vehicles that return to the dealer for any type of service during the New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage period.

make sure to go back to stock on everything though. If the shop wants to, they can say that the tune's increased psi caused premature failure, thusly not being covered under warranty. It is NOT uncommon for shops to fabricate absolutely insane stories on "what could have occured" in order to get out of a warranty repair.
