Water/meth question

I never messed with water/meth so i wouldn't even know where to begin. I'm planning on getting a kit soon and was wondering where the misting nozzle would go. I'm reading devils own website and i see that the best location is either on the cold side pipe or in the intake manifold. For ease of install i figured i go with the coldside pipe. My other question is does this get tuned in or does the progressive computer do the work? And finally can i use the trunk mount tank from coolmist with devils own kit?

I use the progressive w/m controller in my sc/MCS with great success. For any forced induction, place the injector after the blower/turbo...preferably after the intercooler because you don't want the mist to condensate there...keep it away from the MAF/MAP sensor tho...

If you just want to use it as an added fail-safe measure (and let the ecu automatically take advantage of the colder readings by advancing timing itself accordingly), do not get it tuned WITH the w/m...that way you won't blow up anything if it fails for any reason.

If you tune to take advantage of the w/m, be sure to make sure there's a fail-safe way to either auto shut down the motor or auto re-adjust the tune instantly to adapt to none w/m condition...or... boom...

Finally, rear reservoir is ideal because you want at least one gallon of 50/50 w/m to be practical and for better weight distribution.

what advantage does the w/m have without a tune? what does it do for u? and how much hp gain do u see without tuning for it?

It give your engine a safety overhead when driving hard...cooler intake charge is always better. Water/meth prevents predetonation by lowering intake charge and eliminates hot spots in the cylinder...essentially presenting conditions similar to using higher octane fuel. Under these conditions, the ECU will usually adapt to take advantage of the lowered intake temp and advance timing accordingly...meaning you will get some hp gains...probably just a few more ponies...I use it for the above reasons...safety, not hp gains

That is the key statement....I just cannot see tuning a street driven car for meth (my brother has a TTA that is tuned for it). I think just having the meth as a nice bonus but will not dmg the engine if you run out is ideal for a street car

Similar to running out of fuel when using N2O...

Just a horrible idea. On top of the fact that people have proven there is no gains with water/meth on the LNF.

like it was stated above its more or so to keep the temps down no hp gains.
