What is ecotec

i always thought that ecotec was the vvt but i learned that it wasent what exactly is ecotec

a name. my guess would be its short for economical technology or something of the other.

ecotec is a family of engines.

short version, after vtec from honda, it seems like everyone had to have a "tec" on the end.

its a family of engines roughly based off of the same base engine design

It is 6 letters put together to form a word... it has 3 vowels too... maybe economical technical nightmare...
