What happened to the guy with the melted spark plug?
then why are you obsessing over the question as to why he lowered his gap? Pretty common thing change the gap on plugs to fit the need of each individual car.
But more than likely, like you stated, he was probably hitting the plugs on something to change the gap and weakened them, causing the strap to break off.

Changing spark plug gaps isn't always the answer. There could be fueling problems for instance. Maybe a leaky map sensor (he did change them). I know on my car I was having some misfires before and it had ZERO to do with the plugs. Thats why I'm curious.
Honestly people **** happens, I'm not butthurt that my car broke. In my post I did not blame anything that happened on James or his tune. I trust James as a tuner like many other people do. Some may not trust him, but its not your car so who cares. To get this out in the open. I was logging my car and went to do a pull, it made a sound, so I let off immediatley and it backfired. I limped the car home and started to diagnose the problem. I made the thread wondering if this has every happened to anyone before. While making the thread I was talking to James to diagnose the problem. While doing a comp test I had 0 is cylinder 1. Next order of business is getting it into a professional to have them find/fix the problem. Deleted the thread because I seen it turning into a bashing James thread, and I didn't want any part of it.

Sounds like you may have f'ed with the plugs too much. Cest la vie...

Originally in the thread I said this happened right after uploading a new tune. While making the thread I was talking to James to diagnose the problem. Then either I or James thought it would be a good idea to change my post to remove the part about how the car took a **** right after uploading a tune revision. I also went ahead and edited my signature so it would no longer say that James tuned me on e47. While doing a comp test I had 0 is cylinder 1. Next order of business is getting it into a professional to have them find/fix the problem. By taking it to a professional I mean that I'm gonna take the car back to stock and see if I can get GM to foot the bill. I know you gotta pay to play and I realize that this will make it harder for people with legit problems to have warranty work done but I don't care. Deleted the thread because I seen it turning into a bashing James thread, and I didn't want any part of it. Actually, that's not true. I deleted the thread because someone caught on to the fact that I edited the thread and my sig to remove any information about James having an engine kill itself while he was remote tuning it. Plus, if I'm gonna try to get GM to pay for this I can't very well have information about mods, tunes, pulls, etc. out there now can I? .

Also, you don't have to worry about Sarah turning you in to your dealership. GM is a big company. Some executive heard about "social media" and said, "Hey, we need people communicating with our customers through social media." The result is people like Sarah sitting in a cubicle, trying their best to help customers on forums, facebook, twitter, whatever. Sarah doesn't give two ***** whether or not you are trying to rip GM off.
Normally I'm a nice guy. Unfortunately, James has decided to insinuate that I'm lying and is eThugging as well as his feeble little brain can dish it out. So, I'm just gonna tell it like it is.
Edit:
Also, after reading what others have said, I don't think the tune broke the car. I think adjusting the plug too many times and doing pull after did it in. Of course, if the tune had been dialed in sooner, wouldn't that have prevented this? How many gap settings and tune revisions and pulls and datalogs did it take before this all happened?
I do think it was shady the way stuff was removed and lied about. At first I just figured James had some type of Napoleonic Complex or something. Now I'm positive that the reason he acts this way is due to either a social or physical inadequacy. Just not sure if the other guys in school popped him with their towels in the locker room too many times or if he has a micropenis.
I know I said I'd stay out but James just keeps asking for it. I'm sure he'll get out his dictionary and thesaurus. Then he'll understand most of what I said and come back with a childish response.

^ I don't know why you beleive I'm some small minded guy or even that I was picked on. Because I def was not. You see my online grammar as a illiteracy but yet I do have quite almost four years of college behind my belt... My problem with you, is your accusations of the fault being the tune. I showed proof and explained enough. Which apparently wasn't good enough for you at the time
His tune was dialed in and everything was mint. I sent him a revision for less boost ramp because he asked me to. (but as a tuner should do, I asked for a log) .

While its obvious he's trying to hide what was done to the car, I'm not sure he realizes that you can't hide the fact you've been tuned. Write entire only covers up so much. If they dig (which if they have to replace something major they will) they will find it.
Maybe you'll get lucky though. Lots of people have.

the one thing i can say, ive seen many ground electrodes break, go through the motor and not hurt anything. Hell i watched a guy put hemi plugs in a 4.7L truck before, fire it up beat the **** out of the plugs because they were too long, pulled the plugs put the right ones in, start the truck, ran like hell missed raised the rpms blew all the pieces out of the motor and the truck ran fine. So one little electrode tip breaking isnt going to bend a valve period

lol this thread cracks me up. I work in a shop and i seen a lot of STOCK and MODIFIED engines blown. Its a natural occurance. I dont think no one is to blame. Sooner or later everyone will need a engine. It cannot last forever.
hell he could have had a bad valve guide ive been seeing a few of those pop up in our platform. He really wont know until its torn down so it is speculation. Agreed on the tuner always being blamed though when i blew mine, (because my meth didnt come on) everyone was quick to assume it was the tune

thanks brother look at it like i did, if gm denies it time for a good build. hell i did mine in the driveway. I have a 100k warranty on mine and could have warrantied it, but i know i wanted to keep pushing the car and not have a stock motor back in her. **** happens, then u make it better

It was a lot of money, a lot of work, and a lot of time but I'm glad I did it!
It's funny how many idiots come in here talking **** about someone who actually knows what they're doing.
I forgot this forum is full of young douche bags who don't know anything about cars but yet they're experts. This forum gives me a headache.

I don't think anyone is angry. Personally, I'm just curious. I think I've got a pretty clear picture of what happened. Curiosity has been satisfied.
Although, I wonder how the exhaust wheel on your turbo looks? Wonder if that piece did anything?
Curious, to whom are you referring?
Whether its worth trying or not is a judgement call that each person has to make. Me, I would feel guilty unless I knew it was caused by a manufacturing defect. Seeing as how you're a college student, I can understand why you are trying. Do I agree? No, but its not my car.
