Cool what should i do???

so its finally time to start modding the tc. so my question is what should i do now?

i how a tune already, a drop in air filter( k&n), and a shorty antenna.

i was thinking a hahn intake or charge piping. which 1 would you guys recommend first?

did anybody develop a intake mainold for the ss/tc?

thanks

Intake is the next logical step, either short ram or cold air induction depending on your preference and budget. There is no intake manifold yet. After the intake, the downpipe is the next bottleneck.

^^^ Wow, is there a need to post that 4 times? And I disagree. The stock one can expand and crack on you, worse it can take out a sensor and some wires. The charge piping is a great upgrade!

crap, sorry. The server said it was busy so I moved on. I didn't think I posted

Sure, I will agree, the charge piping is a nice thing to have since the stock one is so cheap but for maybe $50-75. Not $350

Clear Image has a group buy going on right now on charge pipes. Charge pipes are not a big bang for the buck with a stock turbo and a few bolt-ons. But, the stock plastic hot pipe is prone to cracking and the aftermarket stuff does flow better if you plan to keep modding down the road.

Stock hot pipe flows like crap at 300 CFM. It is just as restrictive as the stock DP. Stock turbo flows 32 lbs per min which is approx. 420 CFM. Clearimage's hotpipe flows 480 CFM and is supposed to be worth 6 whp more than one of their competitors pipes. So maybe 7 whp over stock all the other charge pipes have much harsher bends and are much longer in length wich means more volume for our little snail to fill. 1.8 cubic feet less volume plus way less restriction and much greater durability than stock at a price way less than anyone else equals a winner in my book!!!!

After the tune, the bigger gainers are downpipe and intake, each is about 14-15 HP. Until those are done, charge piping ain't gonna gain but a few HP. The charge pipes became more important for performance the more you mod. If you are just starting to mod, I still maintain they are not the best bang for the buck.

I wish you could add those gains if you could it would be 15 whp for an intake, 5 whp for a Catback. 15whp for a DP and 6 whp for chargepiping for a total of 41 whp. I would be at 348 whp. Too bad it does not work that way.

Those numbers are individually with a tune. You are correct, you can't add them up like that, but that was not what I was doing. My point is the charge pipes as a performance mod is low on the priority list until you get other mods done.

Some people might put it up higher on their priority list due to not wanting a broken stock plastic hot pipe or maybe they like the appearance of the aftermarket charge pipes better. I have no problem with that. I still maintain the charge pipes along with the catback are not good bangs for the buck when you are starting out on performance mods. Same with the catback, it's not a big power gainer, but lots of people like the sound, so they do it anyway.

Looking at your mod list in your siggy, you don't have charge pipes yet. I was at the dyno when a SS/TC was on the rollers with everything you have plus Hahn charge pipes. It put down 310 HP. See what I mean?
