What are these for?

I did a pressure test on my piping while hooked up to the car and I noticed that while pressurized I had a little bit of that air coming through these rectangle holes in the head. Are they for crank case ventilation? And also is the air supposed to be coming through there?

They are for the PVC system pretty sure. When you do a boost test you pressurize one or more cylinders and some air will leak past the rings.
