What would it take to beat a c5 vette?

when i owned my 2.4 my dad purchased a 01 c5 vette..convert and standard..thus making him king of the house in terms of cars with horsepower.

traded in my 2.4..got a LNF..dont know alot about them..

im assume my dads car is making roughly 330 whp..thats a guess..

im thinking i will need a tune, intake, dp and a intercooler with piping inorder to hang with him from a dig.. a roll should be a different story..less mods obviously.

any ideas? am i hitting in the dark here? what route should i go for mods?

i'ld say go with piping, exhaust, intake and an agressive tune. i don't own an lnf but i've seen some dyno. and they've done very well. if you have to the money, go as far as you can

Does it have the LS1 or LS6? Also, depending on the tune and supporting mods, you still might be bitin off a little much. The LS1 is rated 350hp and the LS6 is at 385hp. Is your dads vette completely stock?

well. this is just my oppinion. if i were to sell my lsj for an lnf. first thing i'ld do is go with the hahn intercooler, piping, intake, exhaust. do a little wheel upgrade, tune the **** out of it. and call it good engine wise

Oh....and when he's not lookin, have one of ur friends sneak up and poor oil down his tires right before the launch if you go from a dig. If you do the dig tho, I think you might be in some trouble

The C5 vettes ran anywhere from 13.3 - 13.7 from the factory depending on the transmission...convertibles are on the slower end.....they are not very quick cars by todays standards.....Just get a tune and you will have him easily beat

Don't try it from dig, he will eat your ass even with a tune. From a role and you have a tune, it will be fun. Not sure if you would win or not but ether way your dad will be surprised. The closest I have come in that field is racing a ls1 camaro.

Most C5s i've seen have been running around 14.1-13.7, trapping around 102 i believe, not really that fast, i think all you would need is intake, exhaust, and tune, and you should be good.

Stock C5 is around 290-300 whp and they actually weigh around 3400 lbs so they are 500 lbs heavier than a TC. I stayed dead even with a C5 from a roll when I was bone stock. Now I can pretty easily beat one. Just a good tune is all you really need but the supporting mods really help in the upper revs.

On the nurburgring stock for stock you already win!

I'd say from a 40-45 roll you punch it in 2nd with comp mode on and powershift the **** out of your car at 6500 RPMs and dont look back till its over. Good luck!
