What's going on?

Okay so im coming home from Best Buy. When I get home I try turning off my car. The key wont budge. I went to the garage and got some pliers and took it to the key, the key wont budge. I had low fuel so i was trying to figure out what to do. I popped open the hood and took out two fuel pump fuses, eventually, the car dies out. Then I go to the trunk and disconnect the battery. So thats how I have to turn off my car now. Anyone else having this problem?

P.s. i did try going through the gears, turning the wheel, and locking and unlocking my car to see if it was a securtiy issue.

yea I cant even turn mine off. Yea I found out I could just stall it to kill it also but I'm still killing the battery so that the radio and a/c turn off.

Did y'all have mods when you took it in? I'm just wondering if they're gonna replace it if I have all my mods on.

as long as your mods don't cause your problem then legally it should be covered. Be careful though, some dealers like to be a pain in the ass, just don't let them push you around. They have to prove that the mod caused the problem.

I had exhaust if it matters. lol they shouldn't give you a problem, I see no way thats those mods could cause a problem like this.

My 05 balt did that. Ignition switch kept breaking. It would even turn itself off on the highway and i'd lose all power. They lemoned it, even though I bought it used. gave me more on a trade in and I got an 07 LT model then lol.

Had the same problem with my 09 SS, take it to the dealer to have them replace the entire thing. When i picked up my car the guy from Classic Chevrolet said he had never seen anything like that before (was an older guy in his 50's).

i've seen that on GM's before. On the car i worked on it was some solenoid or something that was in the steering column. i just took it out altogether.
