Wheel HP/WTQ?

just wondering what the WHP/WTQ would be after adding DP w/Hi-Flow cat,Hahn intake, CI Boost Tubing, and hahn cat-back. i realize that with the relearn feature you cannot peak over 260HP but i was just wondering if theWHP gains would still be decent without a tune. Also just curiouse what the stock WHP/WTQ is as well.

Most stock cars dyno in the 240 whp range. If the bolt ons do add anything it would be probably a couple whp or so but not much. They just allow the motor to produce the 260 hp easier.

lol how come your numbers are different in your sig? it says "-Numbers = 256hp/256tq to the wheels"

HP equals Torque X RPM / 5250 so it limits HP output too because it limits the amount of torque. Either that dyno was a happy dyno or your Desired Airloads were no longer at stock levels because that would mean you gained 17 whp from an intake on the stock tune.

From what I know...it targets a certain air flow soo all you would be doing is allowing it to get to that target more easily.

You got it, and unless you tell the ECM to allow more air in and it is running the stock A/F, stock timing, stock torque management, etc. You will make the same amount of torque and hence Hp with an intake as you do stock.

I'm not saying that he gained anything. But MATHEMATICALLY he COULD actually gain HP without changing peak TQ.

260tq x 5200rpm / 5252 = 257whp @ 5,200rpm.... that is if there were 260wtq available at 5200RPM. The RPM that it occurs in this equation actually matches up well with what you might expect from the stock snail in the SS/TC as well.

So in a mathematical equation, it does actually make sense. I'd need to see a dyno to actually believe it...

The only problem is I have yet to see a stock tune TC make 260 wtrq at 5200 rpms. They usually spike to 250-260 and fall slowly as the revs increase. usually to 240 or so at that rpm. Just a happy dyno or non SAE numbers probably. I wonder if he has a dyno sheet?
