where to get gms1 installed in NJ?
I tried the regional forum, but it doesnt seem like anyone goes there. Where did the people in NJ get their gms1 kit installed? Every place i've called has tried to charge me 400 for install...thanks
believe it or not I had mine done at Malouf chevrolet about a year ago.Took them quite some time as it was there first and only upgrade as well as they had trouble with the system accepting the new info, turned out they issued another number to the system and all was fine from there.

I was probably there a total of about 4 hours in change as they could not get the calibration number to work, was on the phone with GM tech support and finally tried issuing a new calibration number to it which worked. As I recall I think the total was less than 300 bucks but they did the complete install.I looked into installing part of the components myself but was told by an inside source at GM if there is a problem anywhere within the total install, that I may have an issue with GM and out of pocket additional money. In seeing what happened with the install,I am glad that I didn't do anything with regard to the install and basically put it all on them.Hope this helps and if you have anymore questions let me know.
I see your location is in East Stroudsburg, Gray Chevrolet in Stroudsburg has done one before, I plan on getting mine done this spring there. I'm pretty sure they wanted $650 for the kit installed.
I had mine done at Flemington Chevrolet. They charged me $212. After 7 months of having it, it was randomly losing the boost signal from my RPD. It was just saying data not available but boosting completely fine. It was completely random when it was happening and it happened a total of four times. I brought the car back in the middle of December and they redid the connections. There hasn't been a problem since.
They did tell me that it was the first one they ever did when I first picked the car up. They also did not solder the connections, they used the butt connectors. Take this information and do what you will with it. If you have any other questions let me know.
