Except the aftermarket runs out of fuel. But it could be a good thing for us as we might get bigger injectors at some time.

< fuel + better atomization = more HP. I'd venture a guess we're not using all the fuel being pushed into the combustion chamber with the injectors we have right now. Ignition, valve and injector TIMING plus rail PRESSURE all optimized for absolute HP would probably knock your socks off. And get world class fuel economy to boot.

I'm not sure why you're comparing the V6 Camaro either.

1st off, its not 500lbs heavier, it's 800+ heavier for a V6. (3807 lbs).

And ya, there will be some people who make 10 second V6 cars but even then it's still not in the same category. It's not a slouch for handling but it's not really good either. And the V6 does not outhandle the SS. 63.7 slalom vs 65.8. 0.87g vs 0.88g (so it's not just the tires- because the Gs are pretty close).

Ya you could put on suspension, and a turbo, and a blah blah blah- Or you could have bought a Solstice GXP Coupe if you wanted a light sports car or a Camaro SS if you want a GT/Muscle car. No knock on the V6- it's a GREAT car. Just not really a performer, it's more a cruiser.

and honestly, I expect the SS Cobalt to put down 275-285whp... I'm thinking they are probably "under rating" it so its not in competition with the V6 Camaro in power output...

I mean, when you are boasting about your mid-20 mpg 300hp V6, its not cool to have a upper-20s/lower 30s mpg 300 hp I4

which for example is one reason why Camaros and TAs were always "rated" lower than Vettes, to not be direct competition

and I wouldn't really put the HHR in that comparison, I mean its kind of like the sky/Solstice... not really aimed at the "younger" generation like the V6 Camaro and SS Cobalt
u Know that 285 at the wheel is more like 330 at the crank drivetrain loss is about 13 to 15 %. A car with 285 at the wheels having 300 at the crank is like 7 % drive loss isn't going to happen

Well keep us all posted - but I would put MONEY on the fact that the dealer knows nothing about this kit or it's release date.

My dealer is a man-nipple...basically a useless appendage. I get more info and speculation from these boards.

I seriously NEVER take my car to the dealership unless it's something I have zero mechanical knowledge about.

I don't feel like blowing a whole saturday morning on something small.

I'll drop my car off for major repairs and bounce

ok so here we go.....not to brag but biggest update in weeks.

parts man. talked to gm performance division.
usually the process goes...make the part, get a part number later and the once # is available the part gets released a couple weeks after.
sooo guess what, no part # yet, his words are " i know we were expecting realse for the end of June but no news yet or part # " they only allow us to know a lil but of info its seems like

ma parts man. also only asked for the stage kit...not stage 1 or 2
performance div. said looking @ release in third quarter....maybe the end of third quarter....

this could be BS to shut ppl up or who knows.......im just telling what i know

let the flaming begin
