Maybe you got some **** in the compressor housing when switching intakes and your messed up the fins in there? I had this problem on my turbo Grand Am...

The BPV spring could definately be the problem, but maybe you bearing are going bad. It will get worse over time if that is the case.

So it is still do that whineing noise? Is it getting worse or staying the same and does it get worse when the turbo spools up to 20+ psi or is it quieter?

its a boost leak, i have the same thing... I have the synapse charge piping and it makes the same noise its coming from the coupler that connects turbo and piping...

Want proof? Take some baby powder and put some on the edge of the coupler on the metal but rigth up against the edge of the silicone. Go into your car, rev it to around 6k rpm and watch the baby powder go flying... I am getting new charge piping this spring unless synapse wants to do something about it

That sucks majorly. Contact Synapse about your problem they will take care of it. Or if you want to fix it yourself gets some black RTV silicone and apply to the affected coupler and let dry for 24 hours. Problem solved.

i would rather not "rig" it up and actually have parts that work as advertised, I am gonna go with dejon piping in the spring, i might contact synapse about it, but i need to find time and take pics so i can send it to morgan, so he knows what the problem is so he can not let it happen in future products...

Watch your hood clearance and make sure you get the T-bolt clamps with the Dejon kit. The silicone thing is not really rigging it it is made of a form of silicone like your coupler just helps it seal better.

your turbo is blown thats what just happend to me as just a few days after installing my intake i got into it and i heard the whine to i took my intake off and took a mirror and looked at my turbo fins and they were all chewed up and then i found a peace of metal wedged in the fins of my filter

Where did that piece of metal cone from? Was it inside the filter or outside?

I highly doubt your fins are chewed up... You would notice a huge loss in power before the whining sound... im telling you the turbo to pipe coupler is not on, it is the way synapse makes their piping, it is not a flat mating surface, the pipe sits at liek a 30 degree angle from the turbo and the bead is also at 30, so when you try and put the coupler on it has to be crooked to sit on the bead, but it cant seat right because the coupler is straight and the pipe is off... no blown turbo

X2.
You should feel a definate vibration and power loss if your compressor is chewed up. I vote boost leak too. I have one where my stock rubber hose comes out of the turbo it has a nice 1/8" cut in it. I still see 20.5 psi so it is not a big leak at all but it does make a little noise.

Not if the leak is minor. Mine leaks at the chargepiping a little. The stock rubber hose blew out and has a 1/8" long tear in it. No codes in 500 miles of driving. Either you have leak, bad bearing in the turbo, or the fins of the compressor are damaged. Can anyone think of any other options?

i don't think it's a boost leak... i think it's the bearing inside the turbo making the sound... my car does it, but i'm still spiking 25 holding 22 w/o any probs

Mine is tuned for 20.5 psi but it spikes 24-25 psi for a split second before it settles down to 20.5.
